Spanish-language magazine Bbmundo might want to put the focus on kids, but that doesn’t mean forgetting the inspirational characters of decades past. An upcoming spread features kids dressed up as unforgettable 20th century icons Audrey Hepburn, Andy Warhol, Jean Michele Basquiat, Marilyn Monroe, Frida Kahlo and James Dean. Take a look.
The editorial is called “The Iconics” and pays homage to timeless celebrities these kids had probably never heard of. Check out this behind-the-scenes video for a look at how the shoot came together.

I find it kind of creepy in all honesty.

This just feels really wrong to me. Why are we trying to remove children’s innocence? Marilyn Monroe was a sex symbol as an ADULT, not a child, so why are we sexing up children? Frida Kahlo had struggles as an adult that a child should not be subjected to… This is just all kinds of wrong.

I think it’s a creative idea, and even though Marilyn was a sex symbol, the kid’s dress was no where near as “revealing” as Marilyn’s original.
What I hate I how everyone keeps digging these people out of their graves to make a buck. I get it, they’re iconic, but the revival every 2 years is beating them into the ground, so to speak- I turn my head to projects imitating old Hollywood icons anymore because it’s so overdone.
