While some people are all for aggressive confrontations, most prefer to tiptoe around issues, showing their anger in subtle, catty ways. Sometimes these passive-aggressive forms of retaliation manifest as notes, and we have a gallery of some of the best ones!
I hate to admit it, but I’ve certainly left a passive-aggressive note or two in my lifetime. (It took me a few years of terrible neighbors in a college town to grow brave enough to actually knock on someone’s door for a direct interaction. But that’s really the only way kids in a college town will listen to you.) Unfortunately, none of them were quite as clever as these! You can view lots more great notes at the source. My roommate left a nasty note on the AC (on my birthday) saying something about not touching the AC. This was even though she left her windows open all the time. She was a nut, I should have taken a picture of some of the notes to post in something like this!

The one about throwing semi-washed clothes out in the snow was my favorite.

I HATE passive aggressive notes. I found that with direct confrontation, there is a lot less tension, hatred, and grudges held.

wait someone ordered toilet paper offline on amazon??? hahahaha i’m still reading the rest of these that you have on here but just wanted to comment on that

LMAO at peeping tom letters!

if you don’t know who did something, leaving a note isn’t passive aggressive.

Hahah I loved the car space one.

I love the snow one as well. I am not sure I would have thrown their stuff in the snow, but I definitely would have taken it out of the machine. My note would have simply said, “Thank you. I returned the favor.”

@enoughtodiefor@xanga - Exactly! Thank you. This writer needs to look up the definition of passive aggressive. It’s only passive-aggressive if you know who the person is and have the option of confronting said person, yet you choose not to. If you don’t know who they are then your only choice is to leave a note. I know that’s basically what you just said but I wanted to reiterate.
