This law is absolutely ridiculous. Whether women wear a Burqa or walk completely in the nude, it should not be an excuse to rob men of their personal responsibility. 

It pisses me off to no end when I see guys blaming women for guys’ own lack of self-control. Whether the woman is wearing something tasteful or not, modest or not, should not matter when it comes to our reactions. And as guys, we all know that we don’t need to actually see a woman nude in order to trigger feelings of attraction. 

Well we have such different cultures here. I’m from the Indonesia and the cultures are a little bit eastern. Unlike yours; western. The country is not a liberal country. You might think this is a little bit ridiculous because you’re not living in the east.

A lot of people will also probably think that this is crazy. And since it’s the biggest muslim population country in the world, they have to make the proper image for it. I think you would complain either if there’s news like “Muslim majority country loves mini skirt” lol XD

What I’ve heard/read is that rape is not merely a matter of sexual desire. It’s a matter of being in power, a matter of control. So it doesn’t necessarily matter what you’re wearing.

I think it’s fine to teach prudence and conservatism in dressing, but no culture and no society should teach “don’t get raped” instead of “don’t rape”.

As a person who lives in a land where women dress like the cheapest prostitutes you can imagine (Russia), where women wear skirts that with one sneeze shall show your their clit, and the rape statistics are really low because men are very chivalrous and respectful of women, I call bullshit on this whole “clothing causes rape” crap. It’s about how men are educated. Here you don’t hear rap songs that degrade women, you don’t have girls kissing girls in bars just to get attention, and cheating is just seen as a horrible thing to do, and guess what, the rape statistics are really low. Educate your people to respect others and this won’t happen.

I do agree men blame women without taking any responsibility. Well they do not seem like real men to me. As much as they see themselves as men they are not. They are more likely wimps who cannot control themselves.

Dressing down IS provocative. The frightening part is the fact women KNOW IT, which is why they dress in such a manner in the first place. Even police forces across the country admit this. The one in my city openly admitted this.

In a way, you are right when you claim rape is about power. Yes, power FOR THE WOMEN. Why do you think men no longer wish to be alone with many women? It is power in the true sense. All a bitch needs is a mere accusation, and the guy’s life is over.

Good looking men rape, my friend got raped by an attractive, charming man. He led her away from her friends (me and my friend), said he had to go to the bank to get some money because he’d lost his friends and needed to get some money for a taxi to get home, and he led her down an alley and violently raped her. I doubt he couldn’t have got sex else where, he did it because he was a rapist.
I think some men do rape because of sexual desire, some rape because of power and I think there can be other motives too.
