This lovely springtime weather here in New York means the return of shorts to my wardrobe! I’ve chosen my favorite pair of coral high-waisted shorts to decorate. Lace is a wardrobe essential for me, and I wanted to bring a little bit of that into my favorite pair of shorts. Adding lace to a front or back pocket is a super easy way to embellish any pair of shorts.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Any pair of shorts that has pockets
- Lace fabric (the lace I used is just a curtain I found at a thrift shop for $1)
- Scissors
- A needle and thread
- A marker/pencil

Those.. just look weird.

@ashleynicole - I love the idea, I just dislike how it’s executed in the picture. I think the lace pocket idea would look adorable on denim shorts and paired with a non-lace top. Also, maybe if the pockets were smaller than the one in the picture.

@vivalafangirl@xanga - Yeah I think a smaller pocket would look better. And maybe a different type of lace as well, since I view pockets as being able to hold things well (or sometimes hide things well) and this just looks like it would be too likely to potentially rip. I think it needs an actual border as well to tie it into the pant/short because it just basically looks like a patch to me. And I don’t see why you’d need a lace ass patch
I think it also looks weird being just on the one side. Pockets are usually on both sides. Maybe if it was like a lace border on the opening of the one pocket it would be nicer.

As soon as I saw lace pocket I was hoping it’d be on a dress. I love dresses with pockets.

Wow literally just made this last weekend. But on denim shorts I cut out of old jeans and I did both pockets. Love them.
