A colleague admitted that she shaves her eyebrows into shape. This was met with shrieks of shock from the ladies in the office. But it got me thinking, how many of us commit a big beauty faux pas every day?
Much to my hairdresser’s annoyance, I have a habit of re-dyeing my whole head with colour, rather than just the roots. I’ve always thought it seemed a waste not to use up the whole bottle of dye. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.
And don’t get me started on makeup. I often go to bed without taking it all off, fill in my eyebrows with a dodgy old eyeliner and wear A LOT of blush — by my own admission.
So, come on… own up Lovelies. What do you do? Make me feel better.

I go to bed with eye makeup on (since that’s all I wear).

I agree about the eyebrows, as long as it doesn’t LOOK awful what’s wrong with it? also from a certain age your eyebrows are less likely do regrow after plucking (that’s what the wise lovelyish taught me) so shaving is safer.
I try HARD NOT to re-dye my entire head, but I don’t know how to do it. the color goes from the roots into the rest, I cannot make my hair stand in all directions which would prevent that from happening.

I shave my eyebrows, to get the right shape. About every two months I have to go back in an reshape them a little, but after that, you can pluck the hairs out as they grow back instead of attacking your eyebrow. And you can stand farther away from the mirror so you don’t end up overplucking.
I also dye all of my hair, not just the roots. Some areas lose dye faster so that has to be dealt with.

i think my list is way to long to write it all here but i can try:
I always screw up my eyebrows – I pluck them above, cut them too much, over-pluck them,… I also did shave them but it was awful. I also had too dark powders, I wash my hair everyday, I comb them while they’re wet…
well, we all do those beuaty no-nos =D

I leave on my eye makeup at night and will pick off my mascara when I’m not thinking. I lose a lot of eyelashes that way!

I once got Nair on my eyebrows. It was 8th grade and a horrible disaster since it was right before pictures. I still laugh when I think about that photo!

I was born with a lovely unibrow, so I have to shave in between everyday, so it stays away….

I hear you aren’t supposed to put mascara on your bottom lashes, but I apply a light coat anyway.

I don’t use deodorant with anti perspirant…if we’re meant to sweat there then it’s for a good reason!!!

Wait….why is it wrong to pluck just above the eyebrow if hair is there?
*feels ignorant*

I pluck above my eyebrows. I see no problem with it, other than getting a little overzealous sometimes. I just fill them in with eyebrow pencil before plucking so I have a guideline.

Plucking the eyebrows eventually kills the follicle so shaving (properly) helps. Plus you dont get swollen & worry about ingrown hairs. I have a facial razor I use to shape mine up every once in a while. I like my eyebrows in their natural shape because the thicker the brows, the younger you look.
I’ve fallen asleep once in a while with makeup on & it haunts me the day after when my eyes burn. Now I buy remover wipes. If I’m too tired to do my whole routine, I atleast get the gunk off my face & wash up when I wake up. Aside from that & a few bad color choices, I havent made too many makeup wise. I have more issues & upsets with skincare. I wrote a post on that for lovelyish a while back.
