I’m usually not one of those girls who, at 22, stresses —or let alone really thinks—about wrinkles. They’re going to happen no matter what I do. But for you Lovelies who like to take a proactive stance towards aging, here’s some advice: don’t sleep on your side.
According to New York dermatologist Debra Jaliman, a lot of side action during your unconscious hours makes for a more prune-like face in the future. The wrinkles are called “sleep lines” and they’re etched onto your mug by the way you smush your face against the pillow. How inconvenient.
So you’re a religious knee-to-chest ball of sleepyhead—how do you avoid the inevitable? The easiest solution is to get a satin pillow. The silky fabric helps your skin to not crease, but to just slide across it when you move. The best, most fool-proof solution, though, is to just sleep on your back. Sounds like a completely unappetizing and uncomfortable visit to snore-town, right? Maybe, but if you’re that committed, you can make things more comfortable by using a U-shaping pillow or baracading yourself in a little cocoon of pillows.
Or you can be like me and let nature do what it will. Nothin’ wrong with either beauty mindset. (via Stylelist)
Do you Lovelies worry about aging? What preventative measures do you take?

I’m going to be one wrinkly mofo ’cause I sleep on my face.

Honestly, sleeping on your side is not going to make you age significantly worse/faster than sleeping on your back. If it’s comfortable to sleep on your side, then sleep on your side. Shit like this is just on the idiotic side of trying to prevent signs of ageing imo – changing your behaviour in a way that may not be comfortable just for some potential benefits that will probably not even be noticeable. My mother sleeps on her side and she doesn’t look any more wrinkled on one side of her face, and for 50 her skin is pretty good wrinkle-wise (only some on the forehead really).

My dad always sleeps on his back… I don’t understand how he doesn’t move haha
I am a little traumatized because at 22, I already have some fine lines. I blame this on my lack of general care when I was in junior high/high school. What was I thinking, swimming six days per week and never wearing sunscreen? I wish I could go back and slap some sense into my 12 year old self.
