I think it’s safe to say we all hate shopping for jeans at least a little bit.
There’re so many cuts and fits and sometimes they run small or large or the denim is stiff or…you get the picture. But now, there’s this new thing called Bodymetrics and it’s aiming to make the whole buying jeans experiences a lot more palatable.
Basically, Bodymetrics is a new technology that scans your body—without human aid, which is way less creepy than those airport body scanners—and through digital imaging, determines your specific body shape. Then, the smart little machine that it is, will spit out a list of denim brands that will slide oh-so-smoothly over your booty. The machines will be popping up in at least 100 locations in the U.S. over the next couple of years.
So far, the machine has had a 90 percent satisfaction rate, so we have a good amount of confidence in it. Hey, anything to make the putting on jeans dance a little less prevalent in my life. You know what I’m talking about. (via Refinery29)
Do you Lovelies have problems shopping for jeans? Would you use a machine like this?

Hmmm, I am liking the idea of not having to try on a hundred pairs to find one pair. At least this will give you an idea what brands to look for, help narrow it down. I am willing to try this!

Ooh, would love to try this! Hope it’ll make its way to Canada soon

The problem is not all jeans are cut exactly the same, even within the same brand, style, size and color. They tend to vary slightly. And who’s to say that someone can’t hack into its system? If companies and individuals can hack into cell phone pictures then people will find a way to hack into this. No thank you. I’ll stick to trying on ten pairs of jeans.

This would save me a lot of rage while jean shopping.
Pants are frustrating, and at that overrated.

The only one of these for public use currently is in the King Of Prussia Mall in eastern PA……which just so happens to be 20 minutes from my house…..and i just so happened to pop into it. It was alright….you have to stand with your arms and legs spread for like 3 minutes….sorta like a tanning spray booth with out the spray. Anyways, its alright i didnt actually go try on any of the jeans it picked for me because there wasnt a single store on the list i actually shop at, and they only list stores in that mall. now that being said, i wear anywhere from a size 16 to a size 20 depending on the brand (yes jean brands vary THAT much for me) so most stores that carry my size are stores i’m not big on or are not in the kind of prussia mall, but it was free and if i was searching for a specific kind of jean or just feeling very gun-ho one day i would do it again.
