Well, Harry Potter and The Hunger Games were both great. My favorite might be the Millennium series though.

Why do I feel like this has been compiled by a teenage girl?

I’ve actually been looking for a new series to get into for awhile, so I’m really looking forward to reading these answers!

For me, it’s Harry Potter, but The Hunger Games is freaking fantastic as well.

The Vampire Chronicles, Anne Rice & Harry Potter

I’m not into book series, so my list will suck. Books 1-4 from Harry Potter and the Hunger Games, but the absolute best is the Millenium series.

Harry Potter, Hunger Games, The Golden Compass series (ONLY the books, the film was painful) and the Millenium trilogy.

My favorite at the moment…although unfinished…is “A Song of Fire and Ice” (AKA-Game of Thrones series.) But I also loved Harry Potter, Hunger Games, LoTR.

Seems like a lot of people are saying Millenium series, so I might take that one up next!

With me, Harry Potter and His Dark Materials will have to battle it out. Harry Potter was my childhood, so it’ll always have a special place, but His Dark Materials has amazing plot, great characters, brilliant description and all the rest. So if we’re talking about literary merit, His Dark Materials wins.

My absolute favorites are Harry Potter and The Series of Unfortunate Events.  I don’t care if they are classified as children’s literature, they are both GREAT series’ that get you hooked

I loved His Dark Materials, the film made me angry though. LOTR was great too. I LOVED The Dark Elf Trilogy by R.A.Salvatore. And Most of Harry Potter was good too.

Wheel of Time. I haven’t read any other series really. It’s more of a 10+ series but I cannot put them down/stop thinking about them once I start.

My favorites are Harry Potter and The Series of Unfortunate Events. I just got into Hunger Games (thanks to the movie coming out) and I’m going to have to see what this “Millenium” series  is about…

A Series of Unfortunate Events.  My mom is in her 50′s an avid reader and she was always first in line to get each one as they came out.   I didn’t know what the fuss was about since they were “Kids” books.   I picked the first one up and was hooked.  

Vampire Academy is an amaaazing series. It’s definitely worth the read.

The Millennium trilogy

The Vampire Chronicles (Anne Rice) and the Blood Jewel books (Anne Bishop).  i’m also a huge fan of Marion Zimmer Bradley’s Avalon books.

My favorite was the Gemma Doyle trilogy. After that…uhhh….harry potter

When I was in elementary / middle school I liked “A series of unfortunate events” then in high school I liked the “Uglies trilogy” although it wasn’t much of a trilogy since the author came out with a book 4. In this whole time I’ve been a huge fan of the HP series. I have yet to read the “Hunger Games” but I suspect I will soon because I’ve heard it’s an easy read and I want to know if the hype about it is worth it or not. Now however, I’d also like to read the “The Millennium trilogy” since I’m seeing many comments saying it’s a good series.

The Song of Ice and Fire is Amazing! It has such a well thought out and elaborate plot and the characters are amazing. It is difficult to choose sides. However it is only of what I know so far, it is a series still in progress.

The Lord of the Rings by far.  That shit’s iconic.

Chronicles of Narnia didn’t make the list because that book series is just really bad.  I haven’t read enough of His Dark Materials to know if it qualifies being on the list or not.

And yeah, this was definitely complied by a teenager.  Goddamn ~trendy~ vampire books.

Twilight, Harry Potter, and the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson.

I know it’s not exactly a series, but I love Ellen Hopkins books. I think they’d make great movies. I am currently reading the Dexter series. LOVE the show.

The Mediator by Jenny Carroll/Meg Cabot. The ending was bittersweet because I was sad with the realization that I would never read of Susannah’s adventures with ghosts ever again.
