There was a hue and cry over Ashley Judd’s recent puffiness when promoting her new series, Missing.
Many people speculated that she had gotten facial fillers or Botox. In the end, it turned out to be something much simpler:
“For the record, this is unequivocally not true,” Judd’s rep, Cara Tripicchio, told E! News. “Ashley has been battling an ongoing, serious sinus infection and flu. Therefore, Ashley has been on a heavy dose of medication to overcome it so she could get on a plane and travel to Toronto and New York to fulfill her commitment of completing four consecutive days of press to promote her new show Missing.”
Ashley confirmed as much this morning, tweeting that “Thanks to all asking how I’ve been feeling, still very sick (flu + viral infection in sinuses = wicked) but staying positive & having fun.”
Here’s hoping that you feel better soon, Ashley!

I don’t know how the flu would make someone’s face puffy, but I believe she didn’t have anything done because I’m assuming she would have taken care of her crows feet.

@ShimmerBodyCream@xanga - the sinus infection would have made her face puffy, not the flu.
It’s believable b/c her face isn’t plastic surgery puffy. You can even see the swelling in her lymph nodes. That and she still has crow’s feet.

@Erika_Steele@xanga - ooh, I had a sinus infection once and my lymph nodes were literally golf ball size to the point I couldn’t turn my head. I didn’t know puffiness was a symptom. Learned something today.

@ShimmerBodyCream@xanga - My mom gets sinus infections a lot and those cause your face to get puffy because of the pressure build up. So that’s probably where the puffiness came in.

Those damn sinus infections. They’re horrible and a pain in the butt to get rid of. I’m battling one right now.

@ShimmerBodyCream@xanga - Also, if it was that bad, and they placed her on steriods like prednisone it will give you what they call a “moon face,” due to water retention, but it generally goes away after you are taken off the meds.

The joys of being a celebrity: you have a sinus infection, you feel like total shit, and on top of that everyone assumes you’ve had plastic surgery. Jeez.

her face looks puffy… why would she get surgery to make her face puffy?
she must be really sick if she’s having a reaction like that

I believe that. I mean, I could believe it’s a lie too, but some of my friends were really sick in high school and their medication made them look puffed up and weird, but they had more serious stuff than the flu. Still, though, super meds + air pressure= puff.
