When Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from her husband of 72 days, Kris Humphries, many people accused her of using the wedding as a platform to make a profit. Well, Kim sent a letter this week to her wedding guests informing them that she had calculated the amount the presents she and Kris received were worth and then made a donation to a charity—informing her guests that their gifts were going to a good cause, not her personal bank account.
Kim said in her note, which was sent to all her wedding guests, “I would like to thank you for your generous and thoughtful wedding gift. It has taken me some time to pull everything together but I wanted to let you know that the money for every gift received by me at my wedding has been donated to the Dream Foundation, an organization that I am very passionate about.” It has been reported that Kim made over $100,000 in wedding gifts. She doubled that amount to donate to the Dream Foundation, a charity that helps adults facing life-threatening illnesses live their dreams.
I think it is great that Kim is sharing her wedding accumulations with charity. What do you think of Kim’s donation?

… tax write-off.

@Thatslifekid@xanga - LOL. Brilliant.
I hate her either way.
guest
I think she should have written thank you notes to each and every guest who sent her a gift and returned the gift to the senders. But, having given it to a charity is slightly better than just keeping it all for herself.

That’s really nice that she’s putting the money from her wedding gifts towards charity, but… even without the gifts, wasn’t it reported that the wedding cost around – what? – $10 million anyway? That’s still $10 million that was wasted away and could’ve helped people who REALLY needed it, like those without homes, clean water, food, or medicine. It’s nice that she’s trying to undo all this, but the damage is already done :-/

She makes me sick.

How did this Armenian (I’m guessing) family rise to such prominence? They don’t even look Armenian. Who are these people?!?!
guest
She didn’t MAKE any money off the wedding. Her expenses far outweighed the value of the gifts she got.
Either way, it’s no one’s fucking business how she spends her money. If she has 10 million dollars to blow on a wedding, then she has the money to spend. She’s not living off government support, so I think people need to just stfu already.

@DrakonFyre@xanga - Kim’s camp is being very tricky with their wording when they emphasize “gifts.” What they aren’t accounting for is the estimated $20 million she made off exclusives and TV specials. Even minus the gift donation and wedding cost, she still walks away with at least $10 million in cash.
Btw, this is OLLLLLLLLLLD news.

@DrakonFyre@xanga - THANK YOU. I hate when people try to say how others should spend their money. This lady in my area won the lottery for the second time and people were saying she’s sick and should donate the money. Fuck those people. It’s her money.
guest
That ass of hers is a gift from god; If she’s going to donate anything, she should donate THAT to me.
guest
@amateurprose@xanga - You have to share it with me!
guest
@DrakonFyre@xanga - Well, with all of the publicity, I’m sure she did make a few bucks at least. Remember, even bad publicity is good publicity.

@DrakonFyre@xanga - Yes, I grow tired of dipshits talking about how horrible she is because of how she chooses to spend her money. Let it go already, people. It’s not your concern.
guest
@Saridactyl@xanga - True. But then, she has made it a point to make money off tweeting, exercising, and breathing. Of course I find it personally frustrating when I have to figure out what brand of toilet paper I can afford and she could buy the whole company, but the fact remains that she has the money, and no one is in any position to tell another person what they can or cannot buy, or what party they can or cannot throw with their own money.
guest
@DrakonFyre@xanga - I agree. I personally don’t understand why anyone really cares all that much.
guest
kind of surprised by the negative comments. Sure she might not be a great role model, i surely don’t look up to her, but at least (with whatever intention she has) she’s doing something good for the world. She doesn’t deserve all the wedding gifts, so she’s donating it. Big Deal.
guest
It’s her money and her gifts. Let her do what she wants with it. It’s not your tax money, so I don’t understand why you care so much.
guest
@amateurprose@xanga - LMFAO!!!

That’s a nice thing she did but I still believe she only did this for redemption.
guest
@aznbunny604@xanga - I agree. I think she was under so much fire, she tried to get out of it by donating. Oh well, at least the money is going to good use!
guest
I think that 1) it’s none of my business, but if we ignore that part then 2) it’s the least she could do.
guest
$100,000 (or $200,000) is pennies to her. This publicity stunt doesn’t impress me at all.
guest
@KyrieElise@xanga - Only their dad was Armenian and he was shot to fame by the OJ Simpson case. However where they are today is thanx to Kris Jenner’s savvy business mind
guest
@starvealltheway@xanga - Thank you so much for the details!
guest
People are so quick to judge. Goodness. Nothing anyone can do will never be enough for a majority of the people responding to this. And that’s sick. I’m sorry for whatever happened to you to make you so bitter. The charity she donated to now has $100,000 more than they did before. So shut uppp, and get over it.
guest
I think she doesn’t need to worry about money, so I would not assume that the gifts “going to her bank account” was her motivation anyway.
That being said I think it didn’t hurt her, or was a ‘great’ gesture or whatever.
guest
@starvealltheway@xanga - awe just thought that Kim’s porn video had to do with them being noticed at all
guest
I think she is absolutely gorgeous. But that’s about all that I think of her. I feel bad for her in some ways, because of the pressure from everyone around her, down to her own mother, to be perfect all the time. It must be hard, to some extent. Then there’s the fact that, you’re famous, you have all this money & these resources, you can do anything you want basically. I thank God she gave that money to charity, since she clearly doesn’t need it & they were barely married long enough to even split assets.

@Thatslifekid@xanga - I agree. TOTAL tax write off

I think she did everything for making money. The picture shows as well.
