Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence landed the covers of US and UK Glamour this month. Check them out after the cut!
Lawrence discusses archery, being a tomboy, diets and more in the accompanying article. One great quote about filming The Hunger Games: “You can’t diet,” she said. “[My character] Katniss is meant to be a hunter; she’s meant to be scary. Kate Moss running at you with a bow and arrow isn’t scary.” [via New York Fashion]
I know that’s supposed to be Lawrence in the first photo, but the addition of the bow makes it seem like they’re weirdly trying to sexify Katniss. It’s a great shot aesthetically, but I’m not exactly crazy about it. As for the covers, I like the US one, with its chain mail shirt and glowing natural lighting, best.
What do you think of the photos? Which cover do you like better? Do you like Jennifer Lawrence?

I don’t like the sexualization of Katniss. I don’t like the choice of Jennifer Lawrence to play her, period.

Okay, that first cover completely sucks. If they were going to use the bow as a prop, they should’ve found attire more appropriate for Katniss’ character…and Jennifer Lawrence should really know better since she is the one portraying Katniss in the movie. Ugh, major *face-palm*.

I think she’s beautiful, but I’ve never seen her act. I love the books so I guess we’ll see if the movie industry ruins it or not with their pick of actors/actresses. I have never enjoyed Twilight the book series or movies. I’m honestly hoping that the movie is good in comparison with the book for The Hunger Game series. Kind of like LOTR. They did a good justice for that timeless book series.

The picture of her is totally awkward. I had to really look at the picture before my brain was like “No, Caroline, that’s a bow.” The uh, little jumper thing isn’t helping, either. It just seems like they threw the bow in for good measure, but it sucks as a prop…or maybe it’s the way she’s holding it?
