I received a lot of feedback, both positive and negative, regarding my reaction to Angelina Jolie’s Oscars outfit. But, while I am happy to point out dresses (or poses) that seem ridiculous, I’m also not looking to rain on the fashion parade. That’s why I’ve perused the Oscar looks and picked some of my favorites for a gallery here. See them, and let us know your choice gowns, after the cut!

OK, some of these are technically from Oscar after parties. Po-tay-to, po-tah-to. I think most of us are interested in celebs’ Oscar-related fashions, not necessarily if they were present at the event or not.

My favorite dress from the night was (unsurprisingly) the McQueen gown Jessica Chastain is wearing in the lead photo. When looking at thumbnails from the event, hers was the first I clicked on. I tend to be unintentionally drawn to McQueen any time the label makes an appearance somewhere, and I blame the elaborate-yet-delicate designs and classic color combinations, like the ones on Chastain’s dress.
