Makeup, lighting, photoshop, and contrast does amazing things if you know what you are doing. Most people don’t.

I think there’s also heavy photoshop involved here. Katy Perry has round eyes, the lower eye lid is round and not straight as on this cover. Anne Hathaway has dog eyes.. the outer corner of her eyes is lower than the inner corner, but it’s reversed or at least same level on this cover.. it makes her look like Liv Tyler.
