We posted way back in September that Chad Michael Murray would be making his return to One Tree Hill, and just in case you needed a reminder, tonight my friends, is the night! That’s right, Lucas Scott will be gracing our screens for the final time. Lucas is kind of like the show’s hero, always trying to do the right thing, like running back into a school where there was a shooting and carrying his wounded lover out to safety. Yep, he’s that guy. And with all the craziness that’s been going down lately, it seems like things haven’t changed since the last time we saw him.

If you haven’t been keeping up with the CW drama, Nathan was supposed to return home to his family after a trip to Europe, but never made it. His wife Haley knew something was wrong when he didn’t show up or answer her zillion calls, and she decided to do go to the scene of the crime, so-to-speak. What she found was a really cute stuffed animal he had bought for their daughter, and that it really was a scene of a crime. We learned a group of people took Nathan, and were holding him hostage with plans to kill him! This causes everyone in Tree Hill to try and piece the mystery together, but it appears that Haley needs the comfort of her BFF. Enter: Lucas.

Personally as a fan of the show for so many years I’m kind of excited to see Lucas back in Tree Hill even if it’s without wifey Peyton or cute baby Sawyer. So, here’s hoping that when the prodigal son returns, he helps find Nathan and gives us fans a proper final farewell. Hey, maybe we’ll even get one of his traditional voice overs! A girl can dream can’t she?
