The lovely Emma Watson, who has been sporting a cute pixie cut since 2010, loves her bold hair style, explaining that: ”As I’ve got older, and since I cut all my hair off, I’ve felt a bit more liberated about trying different things out.” The star is now revealing that although she loves her adorable pixie cut, some critics have not been shy about telling her what they think of it!
The Independent questioned Emma Watson about that international debate surrounding her decision to chop her locks. Was this a good move? According to the fashion industry, yes. According to fans of Harry Potter, no. Emma revealed some of the criticisms surrounding her hair: ”I had journalists asking me if this meant I was coming out, if I was a lesbian now.” Really? A cute short look means you’re a lesbian? Come on! Emma went on to say: “That haircut did make me realise how subjective everyone’s opinion is. Some people were crazy for it and some people just thought I’d lost my sh**. All I can do is follow my instincts, because I’ll never please everyone.” Emma is able to ignore her naysayers as she continues to sport her sophisticated pixie cut!
Lovelies, what do you think of the criticism Emma has received? Do you like her short locks?

Yes. She is now a lesbian.

What?! Short hair = lesbian? I don’t think hair length is a good indicator of one’s sexual orientation. Perhaps that newspaper is running out of interesting things to write about. I think she was just tired of long locks from her Harry Potter gig. I think her hair is cute, but bold.

She is a very pretty girl, but I don’t think that having her hair that short does her justice. I also didn’t like how her hair was in the Harry Potter movies, though. I think maybe a cute bob would look amazing on her.

Wishful thinking

In that case, most celebrities were lesbian at one point….Victoria Beckham, Rihanna, Halle Berry and the list goes on. I think this is the case where there is such a thing as a stupid question.

They just want to fantasize about her, that is all. I love her short hair.

Sadly, people often make that assumption if you get what’s considered a “butch haircut.” I have had people assume that about me when my hair was punk-short. Because people are raving morons.

society is so annoying. Go her for rocking it anyway!

I have short hair. Does this make me a male lesbian? *Suddenly worries about social implications of such a situation*

I love the hair. People are freaking rude.

Sounds like something a 12 yr old would ask…

Oh yeah, I had that comment when I had a pixie. Mostly from older people. Surprisingly, I got a ton of compliments from strangers who were young men. I had always heard that most men don’t like short hair. One told me that it was “punky” and fun.
It was.
I should do it again sometime.

Just when I thought society was making advancements…
Just kidding. I never thought that.

This is slightly irrelevant to the post, but imho, while I must say that Emma Watson is gorgeous whatever her hair style, I kind of can’t wait for her to let her hair grow back out. I think it makes her look stunning.
guest
i really only prefer long hair, but Emma is so gorgeous she can wear her hair however she wants. And does society really think short hair is only for lesbians? how pathetic!
guest
Yes because everyone who has short hair is a lesbian, and every lesbian has short hair. DUH…..

Having short hair it’s just a stereotype for lesbians but it doesn’t mean that you’re a lesbian if you like to have your hair short. It’s very bothering… And even if she was a lesbian, I don’t see how that’s anybody’s business but hers…sometimes journalists can be so clueless.

I’m a lesbian and I’ve had long and short hair. But I love her short cut its looks so cute on her and I love short cuts in general.

I love her short hair and I very rarely like short hair on anyone. She has a beautiful face and I like that her short hair makes her face more visual.
I guess I can see why people put the two together, but geezee.

When my hair was short, I got asked if I was a lesbian by several people.

Yeah, because we all know hair length means something about your sexuality *roll eyes*

I wish she’d grow her hair back out. I think a [longer] bob would look reallllyyy good on her.
guest
If that’s the case, I’ve been lone a long time!
guest
I sometimes think she looks kind of boyish.

How ignorant and an obvious of a dumb question to be asked. I guess that reporter just bared the begging question for the rest of us, huh, how brave. -rolls eyes- Journalists….
guest
I wish she was lesbian.
guest
Ridiculous. So you have enough self esteem to wear your hair short and easy to care for. Maybe you are a lesbian, maybe you aren’t. But in the final analysis, who cares?
guest
I don’t know. I have long hair and get hit on by more females than males. When I had shorter hair, I had more males hit on me than females. Stereotypes… psh
Ps, I think she look beautiful either way.

love emma watson!

I can see where people get that impression. Emma definitely looks like twiggy without the heavy dolly eyelined look, and twiggy was very popular with the underground alternative scene, which included homosexuals.
