All my life, I’ve been in pursuit of the perfect thick, sideswept bangs.
I love bangs because they frame your face and make it look slimmer, they make you look younger, and they make you look like you have a hairstyle even when you have your hair up in a simple bun. But I always regret cutting my bangs because they never turn out the way I want them to, and then it takes forever to grow out.
But once they’ve completely grown out and I see perfect bangs like those of fashion blogger KeikoLynn below, I cut them again only to repeat the vicious cycle!

Do you like wearing bangs?

I, too, lust over the perfect sideswept bangs. They’re pretty much impossible for me, though, because a) my hair has become wavier as I’ve gotten older, so at the slightest drop of moisture my bangs go from nice to wonky, and b) my glasses get in the way. Alas.

Perfect bangs?
Seriously?
I’m sorry…that just strikes me as lame.
But then, I spent 40 years with crossed eyes…and I would have given anything to change that.
My eyes were fixed in 2002…so if bangs are your thing. bang away….

I was trying to find the perfect bangs for months and I could never get mine to do it. But then I bought the Jessica Simpson bang extension, they are HONDERFUL!! I love them and they are really cheap, I got mine off of ebay and they were $15

For the longest time I didn’t want to have bangs because I still have nightmares from “my mom cut this ridiculous bowl haircut” days. Anyway, I went to my friend’s hairdresser…a lovely but adorably wacky stylist decided I needed a change and gave me sideswept bangs. At first I thought…”oh no” but after many compliments I liked them. They are pretty long…eyebrow grazing, but there is a point that they are longer than that but not long enough to tuck behind your ear, which is very annoying me to because I don’t get my hair trimmed too often.

I love these bangs. Love them. I tried them though but my hair is pretty wavy and it’s a pain in the butt to keep them straight. (sigh)

I love Keiko Lynn’s blog and her beautiful style! Seriously, that woman has the best face and hair!! I’ve tried to get the perfect side bangs too but realized I suck at styling them..err rather I’m too lazy to blow dry them into submission.

I just got straight across thick bangs and I am LOVING them. I have really thick wavy hair that I usually pull back, and with my new bangs I can pull it back and I still look put together!

Duddeeeeeee bangs make my eyes hurt and my head ache… just use clips, spray and BED HEAD if you’re so obsessed.

I have tried numerous times and every time end up hating them because they get in my way and do not cooperate

I recommend JLovesMac1 Banged With a Razor video. I tried it myself and got really good results!

I love bangs. (:
I had actually pretty decent ones that swept to the right…
Just cut them super short though. (:

I don’t like bangs. I don’t have them on purpose though. I had cancer removed from above my right eye and I really wanted to hide my forehead behind some bangs. I purposely didn’t do it so I could get over it. My huge scar is exposed everyday and sometimes these days, I forget I have it.

I have this terrible calic in the very center of the front of my hair… bangs are impossible

I’m not a huge fan of bangs, though I do have the sideways thing (they’re about as long as the bottom of my cheeks). I like foreheads to show when they’re nice. I think showing off a childish, round, high (but not too high) forehead in a girl can actually show a childish, cute vulnerability, the same way a neckline that shows off your collarbone might. It’s very subtle, and consequently show off your feminine side. Bangs to me scream teenage rebellion. Idk if that makes sense outside my head.

@In_the_Violet_Hour@xanga - hahaha i have one of those too. I think it’s pretty normal to be honest with you and has gotten much better as I’ve gotten older (not sure if it’s biological or just the way I treat my hair that’s changed). Side parts can help a lot with that, fyi
guest
@DrummingMediocrity@xanga - Yeah, I have a side part now. That’s how I’m dealing with it, and it did get better as I got older. Which was a blessing b/c otherwise I’d be miserable still. lol

I always have a tendency of just moving it all the way to the side as if it doesn’t exist

My bangs currently look like misspandora’s… I want them to look like the very first.. I have a stupid cowlick right at my hairline that ruins everything though!!
guest
My forehead is too small for them unfortunately..

hmm I use to wear side swept bangs for the longest time and this year I decide to grow them out for a change. It’s a “cute and innocent” look, but I wanted to look more mature.

i love bangs, but my hair rarely falls the right way for them too look right. i’m currently at that awkward “do i grow these out or recut them?” stage and i’m thinking i’m going to just grow them out for now. but i feel you in your pursuit. i have a large-ish forehead so they come in handy.
