This spring is all about the 1920s… style that is! Think Great Gatsby meets 2012.
The Great Gatsby book was first published in 1925, and the Great Gatsby movie came out in 1974. A remake of the movie is to come out this December. According to Harper’s Bazaar and New York Magazine, 20s-inspired looks are going to be big this spring. The looks are a reflection of Daisy Buchanan’s style (Daisy was the main character in the great Gatsby book and movie).
This spring, you’ll be seeing looks with dropped waists, lots of sequins and fringe. Many of the latest looks show a lot of movement and just look fun to wear. All of the looks have a glamorous feel to them. A lot of the styles are gold, white, or black or a combination.
Gucci

Etro

Bottega Veneta
Are you excited for the ’20s-inspired fashion trend? Do you think the movie will be a success?

I love all of it, except dropped waists. I find them unflattering for many folks.

i’m too curvy for a dropped waist. but i do prefer 1920s fashion to any other decade.
