She’s just being Miley! Our recent post on Paris Hilton’s garter print tights seemed to get your attention — and now we have Miley Cyrus rocking the trend.

Miley Cyrus hit up Starbucks before a visit to Bed, Bath and Beyond — I know I definitely need a caffeine jolt before trying to pick out bath towels. The interesting part is she decided to pair some skin-tight short-shorts with a graphic tee, an oversized green coat, motorcycle boots, and… garter print tights. I will admit to loving garter print tights with the right outfit — and I’m just not sure that this is one. I actually love all of these pieces individually, just not together… but I completely understand how this matches Miss Cyrus’ established style.
Lovelies, what do you think of Miley’s outfit? Starbucks appropriate or grunge disaster?

I hate girls who do that hair style. And I don’t like her shirt. Otherwise, I like it. Although I think actual garters would have looked more interesting

@Peppermint__Kisses@xanga - On the top of her head. It looks ridiculous on every girl I’ve ever seen sport it. If you want to wear a bun, wear it at a normal place on your head, not atop your head.

@ashleynicole - ive seen lots of girls wear it and it looks great on them. My little sister does it too and she looks lovely, she puts ribbons in it and things. To each their own, I wouldn’t go hating cos of a hairstyle:)

I don’t mind the garter look, but hers are like a weird lace… don’t like that.

I like it. I’d wear the ensemble except with shorts that are not high-waisted. I may in fact get online and procure me summa those tights because wearing actual garter tights is kind of difficult (although then you avoid the midriff roll created by the waist of regular tights.)

Whereas a medium- or low-sitting bun has an air of “I’m low maintenance but I still put actual effort into my appearance,” one on the top of the head (along with ponytails there too, which I DO see… wtf?) just looks like you don’t give a shit and woke up too hungover to style your hair.

@hot_metalhead@xanga - I hate that damn muffin-top effect with tights! I have to make sure that I pull them practically up to my boobs to prevent that even though the size is usually a bit big.

grunge disaster. this is how not to wear the look. The lacy garters would work better with a less casual look. I find it kind of funny that all the looks were in when I first started college are the same ones that students are wearing now that I am teaching at a college.

@ashleynicole - its whatever, i like the hair style. no one needs to look “polished” 24-7. she is just grabbing a drink, so give the girl a break. she is young, talented and pretty kickass for her age.
i support buns-on-the-top-of-my-cranium look, which are actually called high chignons! every lady should wear one. it shows of the bone structure, neck, shoulders. its sublty sexy.

what? seriously it’s just a bun. i think millions of people don’t give a fuck where their bun ends up. i wear a bun when im running late or going to an early class and my hair is drenching wet and i dont have time to dry it…it gets knotted in a ponytail. so i know it on the top of my head. nobody gets hurt and nobody dies…

You know, if Miley isn’t on stage, or appearing on the red carpet, or doing anything work-related, she more than likely is dressing to please herself, and herself alone.
I like the outfit, especially the garter tights. But as@ashleynicole said, actual garters might have been more interesting.
