Lagerfeld started off by stating the obvious, that Adele is "the thing at the moment." Seems like a fair statement, and one he's qualified to make. If only he had stopped there. Instead Karl decided to throw in some complimentary gems about the talented singer, saying that, "she is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice." It doesn't count as an insult if you follow it up with two compliments, right?
Karl also has another head-scratching moment in the interview, where he talks about how M.I.A.'s Super Bowl finger wasn't "the best behavior." Which seems like a valid opinion, but things turn strange when he directly follows the statement with, "People in magazines are 50 percent bimbo and 50 percent pregnant women." Perhaps some important segue was lost in translation? I hope so. [via Jezebel]
