Did you know Disney princesses’ outfits could be simplified into some pretty awesome hipster duds? Have you ever wondered what a morbidly obese Cinderella would look like? What about Ariel as a Mucha drawing? Artists have been re-imagining Disney’s good girls for years, and we’ve already covered a number of the results on here. Take a look at our gallery of the best (or just strangest) Disney princess art after the cut!
The seven deadly sins theme is my favorite of the bunch, both for the concept and talent it shows. However, the overweight princesses are also strangely intriguing. I’d like to see a talented artist do steampunk versions of the gals someday!
What’s your favorite re-imagination? What re-imaginations would you like to see?

@blondiedeam@xanga - They wrote that right under the picture. Geez when are they ever going to learn to read?

My favorites are definitely a toss up between the seven deadly sins for the idea, the Twisted Princesses (http://jeftoon01.deviantart.com/gallery/11344500), and J Scott Campbell’s sexy fairytale collection (though his are just his standard overly sexualized girls and horribly drawn men).
And for the guys side, which has not much really, the male stripper versions was pretty cool heh.

I actually saw steampunk Disney princesses the other day! Here’s two different examples of group shots:

Pocahontas in Vogue and Mulan are my favorites but I do love how they took the girl’s outfits and turned them into something that works for every day but is still recognizable. That’s pretty cool

IMHO, nothing quite tops the video of a zombie-lightsaber-wielding Belle fighting a zombie-lightsaber-wielding Cinderella.

@gettin_skinnay@xanga - The post say’s “Disney Re-imaginations”….so for some reason figured this was about Disney. But then again, i can’t imagine why i would think that ya know? Also, i wasn’t talking necessarily talking about the post, more about the person who drew it with “disney” in mind.

Mulan or Bell are probably more my style than any of the other ones.

@blondiedeam@xanga - Viria, the artist of the hipster Disney princesses, said in her commentary on deviantart that she knows Anastasia is not a Disney character. She included her because Anastasia is one of her favorite characters (Viria is Russian herself, I believe).

@not_your_concern@xanga - Okay well i apologize for upseting everyone for not going deep into detail and reading her deviantart and the whole background on the origin on the picture. I just saw it and said what came to my mind first. Next time i see something, i now know i have to go all detective on it before saying anything or people will get upset.

@blondiedeam@xanga - Lol no need to get so sarcastic, I don’t think anyone was even upset by it. Also, I didn’t see that someone had pointed that out already. I was just letting you know. No big deal.

The hipster ones aren’t actually hipster, they’re just supposed to be fashionable…according to the artist. But they’re still super duper cute and I love them!!
Also, I’m not into the “sexy Disney Princesses” thing, but the guy who did the sexy Disney princesses is an extremely talented artist.
