While models are typically the ones flaunting their stuff in Vera Wang attire, the spotlight was turned on the designer’s looks (and amazing body) in February’s Harper’s Bazaar. Check out the shots after the cut!
Wang, pictured at her own glorious Beverley Hills home, was modest about the shoot, saying, “The next thing I knew, I was there in a swimsuit. The funny thing is that I’m the girl who no one sees at the beach. Ask anyone who’s traveled with me. Normally, I’m in so many layers, I look like Lawrence of Arabia.” Nonetheless, there’s plenty to be envied there! [via The Huffington Post]
I hope we get to see Vera’s closets in the spread! Though I would be happy to just get additional peeks at that house.

I’m sure she has a great body, but that looks a little too good to be true. It seems like they were too busy editing everything from the neck down that they forgot to touch up her face. I have nothing against her, I love her designs… but in comparison to her body, her face really shows her age (just an observation)!

these are definitely touched up. i have seen this woman more times than i can count (i work at a magazine) and she is PIN THIN. probably one of the tiniest women i’ve ever seen. these pictures show her to be quite filled out and proportionate.

I have a quick story…
I worked at a country club a few towns over from where I live. One of the older ladies (who was on the board and came in for lunch often) came in one day just ecstatic! After we exchanged hellos, she waved a Time magazine and said “Look! Look at my granddaughter! She is on the cover of Time magazine!”
I looked at it for a moment. Her granddaughter was, indeed, on the cover. The shot was taken on the ice at Rockefeller Center in NYC.
After just a few moments I asked her (excitedly) “What is your granddaughter doing with Vera Wang?!?!”
Calm as a cucumber she says “Oh. Vera is my daughter-in-law.”
I was like….what!! It was just so funny how something that struck me as super-cool…just think of the gowns this woman probably got over the years…didn’t strike her at all. She was just a proud grandmother showing off her granddaughter who happened to be posing with her mother (who happened to be VERA WANG!!) on the cover of Time magazine.
I have tried to Google the issue to post the pic but have had no luck. I am sure it was Time, as opposed to Newsweek, etc… I am pretty sure the year was 1999.
Anyway, she still looks great. Good post!

Awesome!!! Glad to see women posing in swim suits after after 30 and not acting like a woman can’t still be a woman (instead of a grandmother).
