Is this chic and regal or kiddish and bizarre?
Etsy shop imali presents this quandary. The item is described on the sale page as:
Gentle violet collar from soft rabbit faux fur — warm and romantic accessory.
Violet taffeta in the underside.
It is a new handmade item.
And unlike a lot of the site’s other faux fur pieces, this one hawks for a reasonable $25. I could see a particularly poised lady pulling this off with a mostly black ensemble for a sleek silhouette, but I also could imagine it going the opposite way.
So the question is, would you wear this? Why or why not?

Overall, I am not a fan of wearing fur (real or faux), but I might wear it, if it came in a color that was more consistent with natural fur. Probably wouldn’t want it in purple.

I think it’s gorgeous. Given the right occasion I would absolutely wear it. I could see it with pearls on a special occasion, or maybe some cute button earrings.

Believe it or not it’s quite a common item for girls in Japan to wear this on top of a low cut dress.
If you google about japanese girls in formal party clothing, I’m sure you’ll see a LOT of those.

I dunno. I mean, I could see someone wearing this and pulling it off, but for me, it kind of falls into the same category as a shrug…which is titled “What’s The Point Of This Thing?”
I guess if your neck were cold and the rest of your body warm…?
Also, why are so many people against faux fur? Is it not completely synthetic material? I’m cool as long as no animals were killed to make it, because that would change everything.

@Fatal_Lightning@xanga - heels are unnecessary but women wear them anyway. Most of our wardrobe is unnecessary but it doesn’t change the fact that we women love our shit.
