There seems to be some (well-deserved) country songstress fever around here lately; we’ve learned life lessons from Loretta Lynn and style ones from Dolly Parton. And now it’s Parton’s birthday, which obviously demands a gallery of her fantastic, flamboyant wardrobe.
Dolly turns 66 today, but it’s not as if her age really matters. She continues to be vivacious, fun and wonderfully self-depreciating. Dollywood is still running strong, and Parton even recently starred in a movie with Queen Latifah. But best of all, she still continues to rock over-the-top ensembles. Here’s a look at some of Dolly’s most memorable outfits.

Always thought her version of “Mule Skinner’s Blues” was (and still is) a classic.

I also remember when Jeannie Kendall (the Kendalls) went solo, her voice was compared to that of Dolly. Jeannie’s music was such that she didn’t need to sing real loud on her songs like Dolly did (on Dolly’s duets with Kenny and others.)

Everything aside, she has a smile that beams confidence. Just awesome.

ha! I just got a fax from her the other day. I work in publishing, and she endorsed one of our books. Talk about an unusual way to start your Tuesday!
