It’s not exactly a party over at Zappos headquarters today. We got some bad news for you shoe fiends out there. Zappos, our beloved online shoe (and, really, everything else) Mecca, has been hacked. How, exactly?

Well we’re still trying to figure that one out, too. Apparently some very smart jerk was able to maneuver him or herself into the website’s internal network where they could gain access to member account information. Spokespeople for Zappos say that most accounts were not harmed — and the ones that were have received an email detailing their next steps– and no personal data, like credit card numbers, was stolen. Phew. What you members do want to do, though, is hop onto the site and change your password to save you from any possible problems in the future. [via Jezebel]
