As the 2012 political race begins to heat up, GOP candidates are diving head first into the presidential primaries that will determine their standing against President Obama on November 6. Rick Santorum is your true, far right wing conservative. But before any Republicans get up in arms when I say this, know that I am not generalizing, but simply inferring on a personal level, that Rick Santorum hates the absolute sh*t out of gay people… Which brings me to my next point about columnist and gay rights activist, Dan Savage, who redefined Rick’s last name back in 2003 to mean something explicitly different, and boy did it catch on.
In 2003, Rick Santorum was quoted in the Associated Press relating homosexuality and the act of gay sex to bestiality among other disturbing comparisons. He also stated that,
If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual [gay] sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything. Does that undermine the fabric of our society? I would argue yes, it does. It all comes from, I would argue, this right to privacy that doesn’t exist in my opinion in the United States Constitution. In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever to my knowledge included homosexuality. That’s not to pick on homosexuality. It’s not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be. It is one thing.
[via USA Today]
Going beyond his bigotry, we are also presented with the suggestion that people do not have a right to their own privacy, especially when it comes to gay sex. In America according to Rick Santorum, we as Americans are not allowed to love who we choose, and the fourth amendment of the constitution no longer applies to its citizens — if Santorum has anything to do with it.
Well, the outspoken writer of the incredibly popular sex/love advice column, Savage Love, did not take kindly to Rick Santorum’s stance on not only gay rights but civil rights in general, and retaliated with one word. One that used to belonged to Rick and his political image, that is until Dan Savage redefined it. ”Santorum,” started a movement, one that began with the readers vote, opening up a forum of suggestions for a new slang term that would suit Rick a little better. What Dan settled on was this: a frothy mixture of…
The new definition of Santorum’s name actually managed to eclipse the former Pennsylvania Senator’s own campaign site, and now, that frothy mixture of… well you know, is trying to reclaim his name on Google, which has ultimately been a losing battle since the popularity of the new Santorum has become a viral sensation.
On this website you can actually make your own Santorum shot and drink recipes (yes they’re intended to look revolting). Not to mention a number of Facebook pages that support the new definition and are even requesting that it be recognized by the OED. Now that Santorum is a potential contender for the 2012 presidency, Dan has a new threat for Rick, literally…
Watch this hilarious Funny or Die video of what Dan has planned for Rick if he doesn’t lay off the gays
And for some love and sex advice, download the Savage Love application where the questions are almost scandalous as Dan’s responses.

First of all, I love how Ron Paul was demonized for racist things written by other people in his newsletter 30 years before Santorum spewed this crap (even though Paul has proven to be someone who is NOT bigotted, and Santorum is proud of his bigotry because the loving daddy in the sky condones it), and yet the mainstream media does not give the latter nearly as much shit about doing so.
The childish character assassination does nothing to prove a point against him, it just makes Savage look like a an adolescent troll and a bully. Santorum’s religion is obviously uncompromisable with secular politics, and I find it scary that he is a serious candidate for a presidential election in TWO THOUSAND AND TWELVE, with this in mind. Come on, people. Move past homophobia. It’s OLD, it’s ANCIENT, and it’s ABSURD. If two gay men want to fuck, it’s none of his business. If he’s so concerned about the constitution, he can show me where marriage is even mentioned in it. Marriage does not belong outside of religious institutions. It started as one and it should be quarantined there where it belongs, where civil rights are frozen because civilization is frozen. I’m sick of this bullshit. I don’t think politicians should be permitted to show their religious character, beliefs (or lack thereof) because RELIGION AND GOVERNMENT ARE SUPPOSED TO BE SEPARATE.

That said, I saw a really awesome facebook response under the video:
“Rick Santorum feels hurt and upset that Dan Savage made his name a
Google-bomb? Awww… Tell you what, Ricky. When one of your kids is so
badly bullied and abused because of the dirty google-ification of your
name that they hang themselves, THEN we can talk about what abuse and
threats are. Until then, bugger off.”

Maybe if he wasn’t such a fucking homophobic bigot that he has to regulate anal sex between same sex couples, he wouldn’t be degraded in such a way for his last name. IMHO he asked for it.

As a Christian who is against homosexialty, I still find this actually quite funny. That is what you get when you dont know how to say your beliefs without being hateful and arrgoant and mean. But, unlike Santorum, I have changed my views on homosexual/gay marriage, not because I believe it is ok but i believe I dont have the right to tell them otherwise (Seperation of Church and State). While I believe God made us to be man and woman in a relationship, I fully know others do not believe this, and they have the right to believe (and live) the opposite, and so to get married, even if I do not think it is necessarily right or correct myself.

I LOVE Dan Savage. One of my friends has a picture with him…. so jealous! He gives great, straight forward advice that most people don’t want to hear, and he takes action when action needs to be taken.
Santorum can die in a mixture of frothy lube and fecal matter.

I just don’t get how you can be against two people getting married. Santorum would be okay with a woman and a man getting married even if they aren’t in love, but he’s not okay with two men or two women who are truly in love getting married to each other.
I don’t know. I just think it’s sick to deprive people of marriage just because your cultish, closeminded religion doesn’t like it.
