Glitter nail polish is quite possibly one of my favorite things, ever. Judging by its continuing growth in popularity, I’m not the only one with this obsession. However, removing those gorgeous chunks of shimmering awesomeness is an absolute PAIN and it takes FOREVER. Fortunately, there is hope!

Deborah Lippmann gave Refinery 29 the low-down on removing those glittery grains.

  1. Saturate a cotton ball with nail polish remover.
  2. Place the cotton ball on the top of your nail, wrap each finger in aluminum foil and press down on your nail.
  3. Leave on your nails for five minutes.
  4. Pull foil off and your glitter polish should come off with it!

I followed these instructions when removing my current manicure (above photo), which was simply two coats of Milani Gems. This method is SO much easier than attacking your nails the old fashioned way.

Have you used this technique before? What’s your favorite glitter polish?
