Wait, I’m a little confused, wet hair is a fashion trend? This shower-and-go style has been making a comeback since the fall fashion shows. Models from Alexander Wang, Rodarte, Helmut Lang and Carolina Herrera made their way down the runway in designer duds paired with glossy, slick locks.
After seeing it on the runway, a few celebrities have started adopting this look, like Ashley Olsen (above photo), Mila Kunis, Megan Fox and Heidi Klum. Instead of doing this the old-fashioned way by simply getting hair wet, these ladies are obviously using product to maintain the look.
Redken Hardwear 16 Super Strong Sculpting Gel for Unisex, 8.5 Ounce, $15.50 from Amazon
Personally, I’m not really a fan of the greasy look. I think it makes these women look like they didn’t have time to shower that morning, which let’s be honest, it happens to the best of us. Maybe this is just too “high fashion” for my taste? I’ll pass on the ‘fresh-out-of-the-water’ sexy look, though it does get props for looking pretty effortless.
What do you guys think of the wet hair fashion trend?

I hate it. Absolutely hate it.
Crocs, jean pajama pants, wet hair… what’s next people, curlers and bathrobes?
guest
TRASHY.

I have but, it look’s a lot better when it’s not so drenched looking and on thicker head of hair… These Chicks look like they are losing their hair.

Look’s best in the fourth picture…

It’s just an excuse not to shower.

Gross.

Yeah, definitely from gel. I hate walking out with hair that looks exactly like that but I do all the time due to laziness and because I know it will DRY very quickly. Why someone would want to have flat, wet hair is beyond me. Plus the amount of gel to make your hair like that causes crunchy hair, which is just NOT hot. (I’ve done it many times by accident. Be careful putting gel in if you have finely-textured hair. YOU DONT NEED MUCH!)

@CHRiSTiNE_x@xanga - Personally, my hair is a frizzbomb with the scalp looking like a greasy mess when I don’t shower.
@MommyMarty22@xanga - Finely textured hair tends to look very flat and thin-looking when it’s wet, particularly when unnecessary gel (i.e. WEIGHT) is added in. This usually happens whether the hair is thin or thick.

Megan Fox’s hair in that picture looks like mine after 4-5 days of not washing it. WHY would someone want to look like that, especially when she has such beautiful natural hair?!
Rich, beautiful people are obviously bored. They want to experience adversity.

I paid a lot of money for all my hair care products… i’m going to use them lol.

No thanks.

I remember back in middle school/high school when people would put so much hair shit in their hair to the point where it looked wet.. Ugh, so gross.
guest
Looks greasy.
guest
Yuk. It’s a case of the Emperor’s new clothes. They think they look great so the followers think they look great. But they don’t look great, just gross.
guest
@DrummingMediocrity@xanga - Exactly my point, why would some one want that look? The wet look has been done but less drenched looking… I add mousse to my hair after I hand squeeze the excess water out and a little gloss spray and bam… A curly wet look with definition…

@MommyMarty22@xanga - Werd

i could never get my hair to look like that. It’s wayyyy to thick and kinky. besides why would i want to look like I just stepped out the shower?
guest
Well…I look like that most of the time (but only shortly after I’ve showered) because I like to air dry my hair…but I wouldn’t purposely apply product to make my hair look that way. Megan Fox’s hair doesn’t look “wet,” it looks greasy like mine would if I didn’t wash my hair for a few days.
guest
I really don’t like it.
guest
I don’t mind if my hair is a little wet, but I never walk out of the house with it combed down straight down looking like I just stepped out from under the shower head… also, who would ever put product in their hair to achieve that greasy look? gross!

This is so gross.

i think it looks kinda cool…

This is a fucking trend? I wear my hair wet cuz I don’t give a fuck about drying it. Why would people do this as an actual style…..?

I wear my hair wet because I like the natural waves it gets and don’t like using products other than shampoo/conditioner on my hair. But gel just makes it look greasy and gross.

Fashion trend could be really silly sometime. I hate having greasy hair because it makes me feel dirty like I need to wash my hair. So, no thanks I would not ever put products into my hair to achieve that look in purpose for fashion or no fashion.

HAHA I showed up to high school freshman year with my hair like this every day. I was too lazy to blow dry it since I had to catch a 6:10 bus. It took me a full year to realize NOBODY ELSE HAD WET HAIR! And now it’s a fashion trend?! I could’ve made friends! Haha
guest
yuck. that olsen twin just looks like she got straight out of the shower.
guest
I don’t like it
guest
I like the idea, and I’ve seen wet hair that looks super sexy, but none of the above pictures look even remotely good.
guest
It looks awful. Trashy.
guest
I do it every day after my shower. :/ In my house.
guest
I do this everyday after I take a shower. Who knew I was so trendy?
guest
Eww and nope, my hair is way… too thin… you’d see too much scalp. :’(
guest
That looks incredibly stupid in every picture. It looks pretty freaking disgusting too.
guest
I always do this….I don’t style my hair….I always burn myself when I do.
guest
going out in January with wet hair in Canada?
its a call for flu and cold and headachs.
no thank you!
guest
@IdealBeauty@xanga - . Hahaha me too! Who knew we were trend setters as soon as we walked out of the shower. I don’t really like how it looks but I usually just hate drying it because I have a sensitive scalp.
guest
lol, I didn’t even realize that this was ever a trend people used. I do it, but I actually have just gotten outta the shower. I like being clean, and smelling good, before I leave. The difference? It dries…. eventually…. =D
guest
The only time I “rock” this look is if I have to leave the house before drying my hair…
And even then, I’d never try to KEEP it that way.
guest
Ughhhhlyyyy. So ugly.
I think in Megan Fox’s case though she is just going for a retro slick back with those big waves.
guest
It looks so greasy, no thanks!
guest
The model in the first photo looks like Harry Potter.
guest
Dislike.
I’d understand if it’s summer and they want to sport the “just-got-out-from-the-pool” look, but it’ll look ridiculous in the dead of the winter.
guest
i do the “wet hair look” when i am too rushed, or too lazy, to actually dry my hair. i will admit though, that sometimes i will add some product while it is wet, to try to head off the “crazy hair” and it ends up looking wet all day. *shrug* don’t think it’s a LOOK, but thats just me.
guest
Haha what? I sometimes go to the shop with wet hair if I have just got out of the shower, but as a “trend”? This is why I always say that fashion is retarded.
guest
Wet hair as a fashion trend? What about when it..oh I dunno dries?
guest
Ugh, god no!
guest
I rock this look all the time… for about 20 minutes until my hair dries.
guest
I’ll be honest, I wash my hair before I leave to go anywhere.. but I also have curly hair and I make sure there’s volume to it and not flat. Flat is sooo not the way to go. Come on girls.. get with it.
