Hey, remember this tweet? So do we. January 27, 2011 began our collective salivation and count-down for the launch of an American H&M e-commerce site in January of 2012. Well, here we are, and H&M’s site still says, “SALE! (Find your nearest store).” Womp womp, H&M. But… there remains hope.
In response to a ticked H&M fan’s tweet, the global retailer replied simply,
I’ll get on the bandwagon. I know I’m not the first to say it, but get on with it, H&M. There’s little point in us singing your praises unless we can, you know, buy your clothes. All of you in other countries, though, count your blessings. At least the kind that come in the form of adorable clothes with practical price tags. Here in Texas we boast exactly one cluster of H&M retail stores — in Dallas — and that’s the only one for a good 800 miles after that. Needless to say, we’ll be happy when we can “find our nearest store” from the comfort of our homes. I guess that Marni for H&M collection will just be the stuff of my dreams.
Are you excited about the e-commerce site? Or le pissed like me that we’re still waiting?

Denver just recently got an H&M and I’m so excited to go sometime! I live in the boulder area and there used to not be one anywhere near at all. I would always shop there when my family went out of the country though.

I love H&M, but even with the addition of an online site, I’ll probably stick to the one at the mall near me. Their selection is great, and I have a feeling their online variety will pale in comparison.

i don’t get why its taking them so long…they have online shopping for other countries, it’s not like this is their first run at online shopping…if i were on their side of development i’d be rushing like hell because you know they will make good money off of this, everyone is looking forward to it.

I’m not too crazy on H&M, but I do shop there. I do like online shopping so e-commerce would be nice.

Yeaaah, I’m with you on “Le Pissed” that it’s taken till now for this to come through -.-

H&M doesn’t give a sh-t. They know that people are anxiously waiting so they’ll just f-ck us over until they finally get on with it.
That being said, I got to school in the Dallas area, so I get to go every now & then, but I graduate this May & not looking back sooo.. hopefully wherever I get a job/move to has a H&M!
Ps, can’t believe H&M opened the first Texas store in Dallas instead of Houston… :/ They should open the next one in Houston, Austin, & then San Antonio.

H&M just recently opened a store here in Singapore. There was such a big fuss over it. There were people lining up overnight just to be the first ones in. I finally checked it out after the crowds were thinning. Ridiculous prices for such simple clothing…. I don’t understand what the big deal is.

H&M isn’t that great.

I don’t care. I can go to the store if I want anything. They’re everywhere.

There are like 2 H&Ms here that I can go to anytime, one being about 15 mins drive away. But I just can’t find anything I like whenever I walk into their store. Their clothes are too plain yet pricey for me :/

H&M is an awesome store. The prices vary from really cheap to moderately expensive in my opinion. I do have to dig through to find what I like, though. For coats, blazers, and dress shirts, H&M is the best way to go. They’re decently priced, but the material isn’t lacking either.

My H&M is a 40 minute drive each way but it’s totally worth it. Can’t wait to shop online though, they always run out of my size fast.

Don’t live in the middle of nowhere if you are into fashion.

I was browsing hm.com and I found multiple bikini pieces I wanted to buy and then I found out that they didn’t have shopping online for the US and got super upset. I live in Coeur d’Alene, Id and the nearest H&M is in Seattle. Needless to say I’m upset

Reading these comments makes me so sad for you guys! I live in NYC and there are so many H&M’s here that I have to call each store ahead if I’m looking for something so I don’t waste metrocard money traveling around the city for it. To the girl who is looking for somewhere to move to be close to an H&M when you graduate from school, come to NY, you’ll be surrounded by them.
Anyway, I used to work at H&M, and while I never had money from all the shopping I was doing, since I’m not there anymore I would like to be lazy and shop from my home like the rest of you, even with the convenience of having many to choose from. My co-workers (at the time) and I were very excited about the online store even though we were at the store everyday. I don’t know about the stores in other cities but here the selection is awesome. I guess it depends on where you live that determines the type of clothes they send the stores from the warehouse. I spoke to customers who lived in Texas and they complained of the limited selection and colors at the stores there and how much more they seen and loved at the NYC stores. I don’t know… Sorry I guess!

They need to get on with it! I refuse to go into our local h&M because it’s always a complete mess – like Forever 21 or a thrift store – and they’re out of everything! I can’t wait for an organized shopping experience for the clothes I love!
