For the year of 2011, there were a lot of makeup looks that came our way. We gave you some pretty different options to choose from, for you to tell us the best look of the year. You guys spoke up and your votes declared a tie.
From the options given, for 2011 you guys loved the natural look. Finding that balance between having enough on that it accentuated your features, but that made it seem like you were barely wearing anything. Natalie Portman is a celeb who typically wears the natural look and rocks it.
Tying with the look for first, was cat eyes. Although not given as an initial choice, it was a look you all felt strongly about. I can’t say that I blame you! Look at Rihanna, the chick looks fierce.
So the verdicts in, you guys like it natural but aren’t afraid to kick it up a notch!

I prefer the natural look, but that’s mostly because that’s the only thing I can do with makeup haha

I don’t like obvious cat eyes. If the liner basically follows the shape of your lashes and just makes it look like you’ve got really long lashes, then it’s done well IMO. For instance, it’s poorly executed with Rihanna, but looks great on Angelina Jolie and Taylor Swift (I am assuming she does has a winged liner; even if she doesn’t, the fact that I’m unable to call out with 100% certainty that she’s got a winged liner look going on shows that it’s been well executed, as I’m not looking at the eyeliner, I’m looking at the shape that is created for the eye). Oh, and very poorly done on Leona Lewis. On her it’s obviously just a super thin and long cat eye. Its direction is good, as it does seem to follow the shape she has with her lashes, but it goes out too far – it really shouldn’t be substantially longer than where the top of her lashes hits.
