We at Lovelyish are all about girl crushes. Because I base most of my crush-criteria on fashion, I thought I’d share my style crushes for the year.
Zoe Saldana Zoe knows her body better than almost anyone in Hollywood. She breaks a lot of steadfast rules, but even the fashion police give her props for rocking things they usually issue tickets for. Zoe isn’t shy about prints, colors or her legs, which inspires me to show off all three in my own wardrobe.
Dianna Agron This Glee starlet may don a Cheerios uniform and virginal-looking dresses on the show, but she’s a fashionable hipster in real life. She is both everything I wish to be and everything I’ve tried myself. She covered Nylon, a hip girl’s dream come true, and had pink hair for a short stint earlier this year (circa my sophomore year of high school). When I’m perusing sites like ModCloth and Ruche for my next online purchase, I often ask myself, “WWDAD?” before clicking a daring maxi skirt or printed shoes into my shopping cart.
Jenna Lyons Ms. Lyons is the president and creative director of J.Crew, as well as one of my major style crushes of 2011. Not only is her office of inspiration boards an inspiration for my own office, but I covet pretty much every item in her closet. She’s the quintessential queen of layering, but she’s also a powerful woman in charge of a huge fashion empire. As far as I’m concerned, the trends start and end with Jenna.
The Emmas When I started this post, I began by listing everyone who has ever worn something I loved. I immediately wrote down all three Emmas without even realizing. To be fair to girls with other names, I’ve combined the three Emmas, even though they each dress drastically different. Emma Stone has been all over the red carpets this year in stunning dress after stunning dress. Emma Roberts has a playful, trendy, fashion week sort of style that makes her stand out. Emma Watson is our beloved pixie princess taking cues from both Twiggy and Cinderella.
The Youngin’s All of the aforementioned style crushes don’t compare to my fashion-lust for these three girls. Though these girls are all under 16, they have been running the fashion world for the last year. Hailee and Elle were both the controversial faces of major designers, Miu Miu and Marc Jacobs, respectively, and Chloe covered numerous magazines with her long, flowing locks. Though these young women have incredible style versatility, all three have been known to volumize their hair, lashes and lips reminiscent of the ’60s.
Honorable Mentions:
Kate Middleton
Bee from Atlantic-Pacific
Elsie Larson from A Beautiful Mess
Elizabeth Olsen
Beyoncé
Kisten Dunst

Kate Middleton. And, not a celebrity, but a character: Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl.

Leighton Meester (in real life) has a great style. It’s so out-there but still so-right. She takes chances and I love that.
Zoe Saldana, as per usual, is amazing.
