The holidays are a little bittersweet for me because I always feel like the lonely Jew on Christmas. Old Bing Crosby movies and new Mariah Carey Christmas albums seem to follow me year after year, but no one ever wants to play dreidel with me. Don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas more than a girl who celebrated her bat mitzvah should, but I sometimes feel a little left out of the traditions.
When I’m really down, it’s nice to see other Jews on television who light the menorah instead of the Christmas tree. If you, too, are making latkes for one this year, here is a gallery of television’s fictional Chanukah-celebrating characters.
Happy Chanukah, y’all!
Who is your favorite TV Jew? Anyone got any Chanukah traditions I should try out this year?

I prefer Hanukkah. The Chanukah (romanized, btw, not the Hebrew spelling) makes me want to pronounce it the wrong way.
And so these are just the characters, not the actors? I guess my favourite character of these is Willow, because who doesn’t love Buffy? Plus her being Jewish allowed for a few funny lines like “Being Jewish. Remember, people? Not everyone worshipping Santahere” and being able to witness the Snoopy dance played out in real life since she would have to go to Xanders’ place to watch the Christmas specials and he’d do the dance. Yay.

I love when TV characters are Jewish! I too always feel like the only Jew on Christmas, lol.
