In a fit of Christmas shopping after a long day at work, I impulsively bought this metallic body con skirt from Charlotte Russe… for, erm, myself. (The website only shows the skirt in dark gray, but I swear, in stores it comes in nude too!) Since then, I’ve been thinking up, writing down, and photographing my favorite ways to wear this baby. It’s easily becoming my go-to skirt for, well, everything. Here are my three favorite ways to wear it, so far.
Outfit details: Top, Old Navy; Tights, Target; Boots, Target.
This is a really good casual outfit; I would wear this to class, out shopping or to dinner with family or friends. The skirt is allowed to truly shine against a neutral palette. However, when it comes to wearing all black or all neutral tones, I like to play with textures. The lace tops adds visual interest without grabbing attention away from the metallic skirt. Adding black tights and my super comfy motorcycle boots is just another layer of visual interest without, again, stealing the limelight.
2. Holiday Party
Outfit details: Jacket, H&M; Top, American Eagle/Aerie; Tights, Target; Shoes, department store.
I love this outfit, I won’t lie. For a holiday party, it’s the right amount of sparkly and sophisticated. Nothing is too crazy. A sparkly skirt paired with a sequined, purple tank top at first sounds like a recipe for the club. I decided, at the last minute, to add my “business” favorite jacket from H&M and these super old wedge heels (from a department store that no longer exists). These two pieces transformed the outfit from club wear to an outfit that is worthy enough of any holiday party; it’s cute and simple, and kind of hot, while still being covered up and classy. And ladies, there is nothing hotter than being classy.
3. Date night
Outfit details: Top, Forever 21; tights, Target; oxford heels, Forever 21.
Colorful tights are playful and fun, without being over-the-top. I love nude and burgundy together, so pairing a nude, sparkly skirt with burgundy tights and your favorite heels (I love my oxfords!) is just a gorgeous combination. I added a simple, but cute, top with a pattern to create some visual interest. I love the contrast of all light-colored neutrals on top with just the bright, burgundy tights. With a black cardigan, this would be a great date night outfit. Or, add some flats and your winter coat, and it’s great for some holly jolly holiday making with your friends or family.
What do you think? If you have a glitter or metallic skirt, how do you wear it? If you don’t, would you ever wear one?

I love the first two outfits you put together.
I don’t much like the third, but to each his own.

You are so darn cute and adorable

I really like the first two, but the third’s alright. I think I’d just pair it with a different top, like a plain white blouse or something.

I have the third blouse xD, but I also don’t like the outfit as a whole. :c

I love the first two, but the blouse just looks a little off in the 3rd one. like the colors clash a bit.

You look absolutely adorable! Love the first two outfits! I like the last outfit, but wouldn’t wear it myself cause I’m barely reaching 5 feet in height and somehow I think I’d look like something on a can of Pillsbury biscuits. -_-
Ps. You are too cute to never look at the camera! I would love to see more fun facial expression!
