Despite mixed critical reactions to Versace’s first H&M line, the sales numbers (and store camp outs) have spoken. Buyers are all for the collaboration. So it’s unsurprising that H&M has decided to further cash in on the brand, and today pieces for the Versace for H&M Cruise collection were revealed. Check them out after the cut!
But I hope this collection didn’t get American lovelies too excited, because it’s going to be released solely online January 19… and the US doesn’t get e-commerce with H&M until fall. This summer, Americans sold exorbitantly-priced Missoni for Target pieces to foreigners on Ebay, so I suppose it’s our turn to pay up.

While some of these pieces are a bit “Dallas mom” for my taste (I’m looking at the white pants and strappy, gold-accented tops), I like this collection much more than the first. The butterfly detailing on the jewelry is fun, as is the retro-inspired fruit design (though I feel like it’s cheating to just slap the same print on most of the items).
What do you think of the new line, Lovelies?

I like the designs and shapes…not a fan of the fruit print. Reminds of the wallpaper in my mom’s old kitchen.

So I guess I was right with the whole “people who buy this line are likely doing so because they care more about following fads and trends than about following their own personal style” thing, and we can probably throw in that they also care more about buying lines/labels that are attached to big-name celebs/designers than buying from the house brand which offers actually flattering pieces. Who knew.
This is better, but still pretty shitty. It screams “my mother made us all dress up the same for our whole vacation.”

Some of it’s cute.

This is a hell of a lot better than their debut collection though the fruit print looks the best on the shoes and the bikini.

I hate most of it, except the shorts. I adore the shorts. I need them in my life.

All of the things with fruit on them look like something my grandma would wear.

The pink dress is really cute & I like the two flats. And the jewelry is cute too I suppose. But what is with the pattern? :/ Much better than the first line though.

Really trying to push the fruit pattern, I see. I like the the pink dress. The fruit…definitely only would work for certain people (definitely not that model). Reminds me of Harper from Wizards of Waverly Place.

Out of that smattering of shots, I see three wearable things and two of them look like knockoffs of Wally World. The third wishes it came out of Forever 21.

I don’t like it. Looks like expensive paper towel print.

These are fucking stupid.
Fashion designers are just rich assholes that laugh at the dumb people that get their hands on the money to afford this garbage, buy it, and wear it like it looks good.
when it never will.
