While we’re rounding up, relishing and ruing the best and worst of fashion in 2011, we’d best not overlook the fact that America has one of the most fashionable first families in a long while, and they deserve some recognition, too. Let’s take a moment to reminisce over the fashionable moments of the Obama family in 2011.
Named best-dressed woman last year by Vogue, Michelle Obama is always stunning, Barack always crisp and put-together. Above Michelle is striking in Alexander McQueen. Usually noted for sporting modest and affordable pieces to casual events, Mrs. Obama is a huge fan of J. Crew. (That makes two of us.) First daughters Sasha and Malia have their own distinct styles seen in public appearances, too, and I have to say very few of us are lucky enough to travel through adolescence so gracefully. Altogether the Obamas are an inspiringly poised set, confident and sure-footed even in an economy that isn’t. They make it look easy.

I could could care less about their fashion. I would rather see them wear t-shirts and jeans and at least not be such fake, socialites in hollywood. Fashion isn’t what they’re supposed to be famous for. Worst president, next to Carter.
