With New Years lingering just around the Christmas corner, you’ve probably started thinking about your resolutions for next year. If knitting, painting, cooking, crafting, flower-arranging, interior designing or shopping is on your list of things to do well or more often, then Pinterest is the place for you.

The day finally came when my Pinterest invite showed up in my inbox. I felt as though I had been invited to an exclusive club of fancy lunching ladies who wear the most stylish clothing and can whip up the most gorgeous party you’ve ever seen in under an hour. I’ve always wanted to be one of those cool crafty girls that decorated my apartment with homemade paper lanterns and coffee tables made from doors. Thanks to Pinterest, I have the inspiration and tutorials to make such awesome creations of my own.

So how does Pinterest work?


1. Create a board. Boards are Pinterest’s way of organizing your pins. Do you like to eat, read and shop? Make boards for Food, Books and Clothes. I find this really helpful because if I’m hungry or can’t decide what to wear, I can click on the board and see all of the pins that will inspire me to make a decision.


2. Download the Pin It Button to your toolbar. This button is like magic. When you’re on another webpage, say Forever 21, and you see something you love, you can click the Pin It button to add it to your Pinterest. 


3. Start pinning! Once you’ve set up your boards and added all of your Facebook, Twitter and Lovelyish friends, you can Repin other people’s pins to your own boards and save them for your next room remodel or craft time.
