Karlie Kloss, the fashion world’s favorite all-American, cookie-baking supermodel, has (professionally) grown up. Interviews usually paint Kloss as a charming Midwestern gal who just happens to model for top brands like Chanel. Vogue Italia‘s December issue, however, shows that perhaps she wants to shed that image (and show off an amazing bod).
Kloss earned an 18-page photo spread, which seems to be more of a tribute to her amazing figure than a fashion feature (it’s even entitled “Body by Kloss”). In it, she flaunts her toned legs, reveals some ripped abs and, oh yeah, lots of boob. And butt. Source is NSFW. [via Fashionista]
I really like this spread; it channels a “1990s supermodel” vibe, but with a more toned (rather than heroin chic) look. And while I don’t usually notice models’ physiques, this shoot floored me. Kloss looks amazing, and I want to run to the gym (… after the holidays).
At 19, I think Kloss has every right to pose in these shots. Plus they are very tastefully done; her sombrero photo (NSFW) could easily be mistaken for an art print. I just hope the spread doesn’t alienate any of her fans that were drawn to her “innocent Midwesterner” image (because it shouldn’t).
What do you think of the shoot? Is Kloss too young to bare her bod like this?

She’s not sexy at all!
And for those who may want to say that I’m a hater, you ought to consider that I’m on the tiny side, as Karlie is, and I wouldn’t dare pose naked, as I think I’m not curvy enough to look sexy to anyone else but my boyfriend.

wow she’s really, how do you say, tall, i guess? she has such a long torso and long legs. like i want to use the term pencil like, but i don’t mean that in a bad way, she’s very pretty and her long features are very striking.

sorry, this is photoshopped to the point where she has the body of a centaur. dat waist + dat booty = not realistic. not diggin it.

@haleymroach@xanga - LOL! “Body of a centaur!” Yeah, spot-on. Can’t think of a better way to put it.

When I first saw the picture, I thought she was about 30 years old.

@haleymroach@xanga - While I like looking at fashion spreads, I also sort of consider doing so to be the same thing as reading fiction…they’re fun, but I know they’re not real! But, hey, I wind up entertained

She looks very pretty, but as others have said, photoshopped to the point where it’s unappealing. Nobody finds fake/cartoony attractive. They should make it look more natural.

Before anyone starts to protest about rail thin models promoting unhealthy ideals and start bashing on her thinness, you might want to think about how hypocritical that is. How about not encouraging young girls who comment negatively on another woman’s body period?

Okay…usually I’m all for “love your body” and whatever but wasn’t she in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show? I mean, she has a really thin body (which is cool), but it just didn’t fit well with the other models.

I think the entire shoot would have been better if they would have not photoshopped the life out of her body. Her butt looks different from one picture to the next. Her body doesn’t even look the same in this picture from the shoot.

I don’t think there’s such a thing as a tasteful nude shot. I’m not a fan of them no matter how old a person is.
guest
she’s 19 so technically she can do whatever she wants. i also think she looks kinda older. anyway…whatever. vogue annoys me so i could care less what they do to be honest

@bAbiiExxPiNay@xanga - that picture is slightly disturbing. i don’t like the look of her legs :/

She’s not too young. She’s legal. Do you know how many teenage models do nude shoots for foreign magazines? I’m sick of these posts. she’s beautiful and legal and can do whatever the hell she wants. She’s a top world model and they all do this. Why are you making a big deal about one of the models when they ALLLLLLLLL do this?

her pouting look scares me
guest
Way too skinny for my taste. =\

I love a girl with abs

That’s scary.
I’ve never seen a chicken plucked completely of it’s feathers until JUST now..

… who cares what her body looks like when she looks more than twice her age O__O ?

It’s somehting artistic, she is 19… for me it’s ok.
But she has strange empty parts on her cheeks, ches and thights. She is may be a bit too skinny (or photoshopped to highlight those empty parts). It can be annoying if her health tends to be damage because of her work.
She is pretty thought.

I think maybe her frame is too small to hold such rigid musculature, but I can’t deny that the pictures are beautiful, photoshopped or not.

I don’t think it’s fair to make awful comments about her body. It’s her body not yours.

She’s the #3 model in the WORLD right now. Last season she walked 64 runways across the world. I hate to sound rude but I highly doubt that a few jealous opinionated people saying she’s too thin or her legs are too hollow is going to make a difference. How about we teach our future generations to appreciate the beauty in things? Why is “Love Your Body” only relevant when the subject is over weight? She worked hard for that body, by doing ballet for one of the most prestigious schools for most of her career. Her muscles are beautiful and the look is unique. so if you don’t have something constructive to say, remember that she’s raking in millions of dollars and fame and you’re sitting at your computer judging her body.

She seems older than 19 to me! Maybe it’s just because I’m old now, but if I saw her walking on my campus, I wouldn’t have thought “freshman or sophomore”. Not even in a bad way – she just looks more mature than I do!

Her thinness makes me feel uncomfortable.I feel that is the best way to express my thoughts on this without being critical or judgmental of someone’s body since I’m acknowledging it’s my own problem.
