Rachel Bilson recently collaborated with Steve Madden as the official face of Shoemint — but it isn’t the first customized shoe website. Shoemint’s approach to customizing shoes for their customers follows very closely to that of Shoe Dazzle, launched by Kim Kardashian She Who Shall Not Be Named back in 2009.
Both Shoemint and Shoe Dazzle utilize a short style quiz to determine your desired styles for the best result in shoes you’ll probably like. The questions ask you to select from three choices of your celebrity style inspirations, favorite name brands, comfort levels, and desired look from sexy to elegant.
So here’s the breakdown of both websites:
- Exclusive styles from Rachel Bilson herself as well as celeb stylist Nicole Chavez
- Free shipping both ways
- Easy return policy
- Each pair is $79.89 and claim to be up to 80 percent off retail
- Quality is guaranteed with real leather, suede and stitching
- Free membership is available with perks like monthly personalized styles and insider trend reports and style tips
Shoe Dazzle
- SWSNBN as chief stylist with Anya Sarre as handbag and accessories stylist
- Free shipping both ways
- Effortless return policy
- Each pair is an affordable $39.95
- Also offers style incite and deals on accessories and handbags in addition to shoes
- Free membership is available with monthly style suggestions including handbags and accessories to go with the shoes
- As for quality Shoe Dazzle claims that their “shoes are manufactured in the same factories, with the same materials and vendors, as many higher-priced brands you know and love.”
- Other international branches have been for Shoe Dazzle like South Korea and the UK
Similar websites to Shoemint and Shoe Dazzle include Just Fab and ShoePrivée.
Personally, for quality and key shoe styles I prefer Shoe Mint but for affordability and more variety I would go with Shoe Dazzle.
Do any of you use these websites? Which ones do you prefer?

I refuse to buy a pair of shoes I can’t try on first.

Neither! They don’t even carry my size and I doubt that a larger size runs small.

@FuhkAwf@xanga - yeah, exactly. I have to try on shoes before I buy them!

@FuhkAwf@xanga - Normally I agree with you, but it is very very rare I am mistaken in my shoe size, and there’s no way I’m passing up a chance for the Pony Leopard Boots for only 80 bucks. *jumps up and down*

i haven’t used either of them but i can’t buy a pair of shoes without trying them off first, i’ve got little feet but they’re chubby . i don’t want to wet myself & get all excited about a pair of shoes coming in the mail only to discover they don’t fit .

I’m a member of Shoe Dazzle but I haven’t purchased anything because I don’t like the commitment. They will charge you 39.95 every month unless you log in and opt out for a month and so on and so forth.

i am a member of shoedazzle and justfab. i have 2 pairs of shoes from shoedazzle and one pair from justfab. it is kind of annoying to log in every month to opt out in order to avoid being charged, but if you remember it’s totally worth it. they have really cute stuff! if i ever felt like really splurging though i would check out shoemint.

I’m a member of all the sites and Sole Society which wasn’t mentioned above. It’s $10 more than ShoeDazzle but they do have real leather and suede shoes… not all but some. I like Sole Society better because of the quality but ShoeDazzle offers more shoes a month and different styles, so I do have a lot of ShoeDazzle shoes. I don’t see the opting out issue a problem, after all it is a membership club. ShoePrivee does offer new styles a month however they do not charge a monthly fee even when you activate your account by buying your first pair. But they do have a lot of shoes on sale from previous months. However a lot of their shoes you see on UrbanOG, GoJane, etc. but more than likely ShoePrivee has them on sale. ShoeMint is okay, I only have one pair of shoes from them, but I don’t think the quality is worth $80. I expect them to be spectacular for $80 from a membership club and my shoes were messed up. There is not a lot to choose from each month and their customer service is not too great. Plus that is a lot when you think about it to forget to skip the month. JustFab is my least favorite club, the shoes often look cheap (in my opinion) although I do have a few shoes from them too. Why I haven’t cancelled from them is because of their Iron Fist collection, which prices are reduced to $39.95 too. Out of the two clubs mentioned I believe ShoeDazzle is better. (sorry this was long winded)
