I’ve always been a fan of Mila Kunis because I love Family Guy and That ’70s Show, but lately the girl has been gearing up to be my next girl crush. She’s finally made the list as I learned more and more interesting facts about her life that made her most definitely crush-worthy. Mila Kunis is a famous actress with a very interesting personal life. She’s an immigrant who struggled to adjust to the United States culture. She isn’t afraid to indulge her nerdy side with online role playing games. She’s all around confident.
Mila Kunis was born in the Ukrainian SSR in 1983. The Jewish Kunis family lived there until 1991 when they moved to LA due to antisemitism, which was prevalent in post-World War II Ukraine, even in the ’90s. Kunis was seven at the time. They were allowed to move because of a lottery system that her family won, allowing them to leave for Moscow and eventually the U.S.
Kunis started school in America without knowing a word of English and she quickly went into culture shock. “Imagine being blind and deaf at age seven,” Kunis told LA Times. “And that’s kind of what it felt like moving to the States.”
Kunis can still speak fluent Russian today. In fact, here’s a video of her defending Justin Timberlake against a Russian reporter.
Most people remember Mila from her small screen beginnings on That ’70s Show — but what they might not realize is that Kunis was never supposed to be on the show. When casting for the show, producers asked for only actresses who were 18 years or older. Kunis, at age 14, tried out for the role anyway by telling the casting directors that she would be 18, without ever saying when. What a little trickster! Even though the producers figured out her lie, they still kept her on the cast because they felt that she would make a perfect Jackie Burkhart despite her age. I’m officially jealous of my girl crush. She got to kiss Ashton Kutcher at age 14 — literally a teen fan girl’s dream come true.
Despite involvement in this show in ’98, Family Guy in ’99 and various movies from ’01 on, Kunis didn’t start to become really famous until recently. Her roles in Forgetting Sarah Marshall in ’08, Book of Eli in ’10 and Black Swan in ’11 are what really caught people’s eye. She became that hot girl who could be in a romantic comedy one second, to an action movie the next and then somehow end in an incredibly successful thriller.
With her fame, people finally began to notice Kunis’ outstanding looks. In 2011, Kunis received GQ‘s ‘Knockout of the Year’ award. She has steadily climbed Maxim‘s ‘Hot 100′ list, starting at No. 47 in 2008 and progressing all the way to No. 5 last year. She graced the covers of magazines like Cosmo, Elle, W and Vanity Fair.
But she also has a nerdy side. Kunis has told multiple interviewers the she is a fan of World of Warcraft. Kunis plays with close friends in the Alliance, but chooses to turn off the voice chat in the game to avoid fans recognizing her voice.
Surprisingly, Kunis isn’t a fan of the media and paparazzi that comes with the spotlight and she loves to avoid them by having quiet friends nights instead of going out. During these friends nights, they tend to play board games like the Settlers of Catan, a game where players become settlers who build cities and roads while trading for resources to survive –sounds thrilling, right?
This is why I love Mila Kunis. She’s down-to-earth, sassy to reporters and a total nerd.
What do you think of Mila Kunis? Does she make your girl crush list?

Playing WoW doesn’t make one nerdy…. o.O. I do know a lot of nerds that play WoW though.
But, damn, she’s hot.

I LOVE playing Settlers of Catan!
She’s beautiful, though her eyes or her look intimidates me!

I think she’s the most beautiful person. If I could look like anyone it would be her!

I think she is one of only a handful of actresses that can pull off cute and sexy.
guest
I think she is precious witty and gorgeous.

The standards for “nerd” just keep getting lower and lower. When she starts having e-mail conversations with her family about dilithium and unwinding after a long day in the chemistry lab with a few games of Magic: The Gathering, she can share the appellation.

I think I just got a boner.

she’s been my fave for…YEARS…so much girl crushing going on. olivia wilde is the only celeb who comes CLOSE in my girl-lust opinion.

Ha! Yes, but only recently…but it’s probably because I never watched That 70′s Show until recently on Netflix. I love that she’s not about to put all her business on blast like many young female celebrities.
@E_Rose_Moore - Olivia Wilde!
There’s something about that girl…must be the eyes.

Look at that fucking body! Mama! *hides my huge erection*

She’s beautiful, yes. Great body, awesome bone structure in her face, good features. HOWEVER, I find her obnoxious. She’s one of those girls who constantly plays to men and more recently after realizing women like her too is putting in extra effort to woo them as well. It’s not charming however as some can pull that off gracefully. She isn’t above oversexualizing herself in a role to do so and while it’s working for her popularity it’s a huge turnoff in my book. Sorry but she has always come across as desperate and an attention seeker to me and I don’t think we see an ounce of who she really is, nor does she I gather. Her demoralizing roles over the last decade have not helped her credibility either. *shrug*

Her Russian is really not that fluent at all. She speaks with a really big accent.
But I still love her
guest
Yep. Total girl crush.
guest
She’s awesome and I like that she’s short, because I am too. Also, listening to her speak Russian was hot and I actually play Settlers of Catan too so maybe I could invite her over! Haha

@Crossed_Out_Name@xanga - Hah, I love your comment.
