T-mobile made me uncomfortable when they confused a clever marketing rebuttal with a complete and total rip off of Apple’s infamous “I’m a Mac” campaign. But their newest “4G wonderland” commercial is just, well, terrifying.
Maybe I’m the only one who has outgrown (no pun intended) the amusement in seeing little people dressed as elves around the holidays — but countless short actors uniformed in pink and silver on a T-mobile assembly line at Santa’s futuristic sweat shop is just too much for me. And let’s not overlook the slave driver in a sundress who’s in charge of the whole operation.
As if all of that wasn’t disturbing enough, my ears are suddenly assaulted by the “T-mobile elves” singing a tune about some “4G wonderland” that sounds a lot more like “orgy wonderland.” Am I alone here or what?
Do you think T-mobile was completely oblivious to 4G sounding more like ORGY before they released this commercial? Or do you think all publicity good publicity? More importantly, am I the only one hearing this???

Well there are all of those elves there…

I heard that too…

If you soak your mind in filth, you’ll hear filth where there is none.

I mean, after hearing you say that, I do hear it in the commercial. However, if I saw that without hearing what you suggested it sounding like saying, I don’t think I would have thought any differently.
But I did pick up the “orgy speeds” in the beginning.

I never heard that before someone mentioned it, but now that’s all I’ll hear hahaha.

@NightCometh@xanga - my grandmother heard “orgy” when seeing the commercial, and she’s the furthest thing from filthy that exists this side of a nunnery.
God knows what you’ve been soaking your mind in, to automatically assume the only reason someone would hear “orgy” is because they have a dirty mind to begin with. self-righteousness, perhaps?

@too_pretty_to_die@xanga - I’m speaking from experience.

@too_pretty_to_die@xanga - Probably, compared to most. But I’m still a sinner.

@NightCometh@xanga - well, your experience appears limited.

Did anyone else notice Beans from Lizzie McGuire?

@too_pretty_to_die@xanga - hahaha! Your grandmother! That’s amazing, I think that makes it official, they’re definitely saying orgy wonderland. haha I love it.

@NightCometh@xanga - I’m assuming you are a member of the Harold Camping Club.
@too_pretty_to_die@xanga - hahaha! Your response was priceless! Orgy wonderland it is!

@NightCometh@xanga - as am i, at least according to your religion. but, that’s precisely why i don’t go around dropping comments that sound preachy and judgmental.
besides, filth is a relative term. Ezekiel mentions women having sex with guys who have penises as long as a donkey’s, and the author of the Song of Solomon writes about climbing a woman like a tree and grabbing her “fruit.” if that’s not dirty, i don’t know what is. in comparison, simply mentioning the word “orgy” sounds downright virginal.

Every time I see this commercial it always sounds like orgy wonderland, you’re not alone! hahahaha

@numbergirl - What does that even mean?

@too_pretty_to_die@xanga - The whole post is asking for judgement. You do realize Song of Songs is about marriage, right?
guest
@NightCometh@xanga - the post is asking whether you hear a commercial’s song lyric correctly. how does that call for you to insinuate that everyone who doesn’t has filthy minds? your comment appears, at best, useless since it doesn’t answer the question… at worst, judgmental and smug.
as for the issue of marriage, sex is still sex whether you’re married or not. the language and imagery describing it don’t magically become G-rated if the participating parties are hitched. so, either sexual language is acceptable in all cases, or it isn’t.

@too_pretty_to_die@xanga - We’ll just have to disagree on that one.

LOL I hear that every time that commercial comes on, too.

@woundedrhymes@xanga - i thought he looked familiar!

@NightCometh@xanga - Well we can’t all be as perfect & innocent as you are..
Anyways, the first time I heard it, I thought they said orgy too.. But I must just be the filthiest person ever lmao..
guest
It also sounded like “Goodbye Cooter!” hahaha.
guest
bhahahaha i’m cracking up

I heard “orgy” too. I admit to having a dirty mind. But I’m also a good person and try to be kind to people I don’t know unless I have a reason not to. Plus I play some pretty mad awesome organ music on Sundays. I think perhaps Jesus loves me anyway, but I suppose we cannot be sure.
Stepping off soap box now. This reminds of the song “Ain’t Talkin Bout Love” by Van Halen…my fiance thought that the words were “Eat chunky butt love.” I’m not even joking. He sang this for years and no one ever corrected him because they thought he was just doing it to be funny.
guest
Ha ha ha… my brother said the same thing!
guest
@woundedrhymes@xanga - I THOUGHT that was him! LOL!
guest
I heard that a few weeks ago, I was trying to think why they would say orgy…
guest
Haha, that’s totally what I heard the first time too! I wasn’t really paying attention to what was on TV and it caught me off guard..
guest
@headtrippp@xanga - Hahaha thats what I heard too XD
guest
@woundedrhymes@xanga - hes from Even Stevens, not Lizzie McGuire lol
guest
@zzzzzulavalle@xanga - damn, that’s what i meant hahaha…
guest
I would not have heard orgy if you didn’t point it out. Perhaps you were just in a mood where you’re looking for the dirty where its not?
guest
I knew that it was “4G wonderland” but I totally heard “orgy wonderland” haha!
guest
First time I saw this commercial about a month ago I instantly whipped my head around to see WHAT company just put “orgy wonderland” on tv. lol Then I realized it was 4G but I STILL hear orgy.
I guess my mind is in the gutter haha but that’s how I like it
guest
i totally think is sounds like ‘orgy wonderland’
