Hello, my name is Brittany, and I’m addicted to Twitter. My friend got me hooked a couple of years ago. I really didn’t understand or care for it at first. Why would anyone want to “tweet” or post statuses all day about what they’re doing? But little did I know how quickly-addicting the site would be. Statistics as of today: 9,232 tweets, 1766 following, and close to 5,000 followers.
.
Though I believed at first that Twitter was just a passing fad, I become obsessed with tweeting– fast. I literally tweet my 140 characters on just about everything that is happening in my life (minus relationships). Where I am, who I’m with, what I’m listening to, how bored I might be in a class (I probably shouldn’t say that, right?). I also promote posts from my own personal blog. And don’t let me get started when an award show is on. The night of the MTV VMAs, I almost ended up in the infamous Twitter jail (where Twitter literally blocks you from being able to tweet, because you have tweeted too much in a given hour or day).
Twitter’s also been a great way to communicate with my friends that are on there. You’re honestly more likely to get a tweet from me than a call, as crazy as that is to say. I get my replies and direct messages sent straight to my phone so that I can reply even while I’m on the go.
I follow a great deal of celebrities on there too — probably too many, actually. I keep up with most of the Kardashians, as well as Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna, among many of my other fave celebs. I followed Beyoncé for a while too, in hopes that she would finally break down and officially join the Twitfam. Sadly, her tweets still rest at 0, though she has almost 2 million followers. I guess they’re holding out in hope too.
My most intense Twitter following? Probably D.C. rapper Wale. I’m in LOVE with him and his music. He always reaches out to fans, and keeps them updated on concert dates, new songs, and just his life in general. I constantly tweet him, his official fan page and his team on a regular basis. I’ve even gone as far as to get his tweets sent to my phone so I can see what he’s up to, even away from my laptop. What can I say? I’m a fanatic.
Is anyone else obsessed with Twitter or any other social media site?

I’m mostly obsessed with tumblr, seriously. It’s pretty awesome but I don’t really like twitter too much.

Yes yes yes i totally agree with you, I used to think it was the dumbest thing until i caved in and got one. Once you get the hang of it, its so addicting. I like it because its more… “intimate” than facebook. I dont know if thats the word but it feels like you are more connected to your favorite celebrities and people you follow than facebook. You’re more likely to get a reply from a celebrity to a question you have on twitter too. By the way.. how do you seriously have almost 5000 followers? crazyyy. Anyway, mine is @mindbodyyspirit for anyone on lovelyish who would like to follow me

I have been put in Twitter jail before. Quite sad, really.
I was @ing friends at the time and when I was put on time out I had a mini-panic attack. I didn’t know how to tell them I wasn’t allowed to tweet anymore. I finally figured out that I could DM despite being Twit-blocked for an hour, but it just wasn’t the same.
@JEDIJESSICUH, if you’re looking for more followers. I’ve had my account for over two years, so ignore the fact that there’s 48k tweets accumulated.

I’m way too into Tumblr and Twitter. I have Chris Colfer and Leonard Nimoy’s tweets sent to my phone so I don’t miss anything.
