When it comes to makeup I like to mix and match name brand and drugstore items to conjure various looks. I just wanted to share with you all my six basic makeup items and also provide each with both a drugstore and name brand favorite. See the products after the jump!
I alternate between these products on a daily basis and I would not feel complete without them!
Mascara: I actually love mascara more than eyeliner since having the right lashes really opens up the eyes.
Drug store pick:
Name brand pick:
Both really amp up the volume of my lashes without making them clump and also do not smear.
Blush: I adore blush since it gives a healthy glow and flush to your look, making you appear fresher and radiant.
Favorite drugstore brand: Hard Candy’s Fox In A Box in “Skinny Dipping”
Favorite name brand: NARS blush in “Orgasm”
Both blushes give a flattering healthy glow to my face without unnecessary glitter.
Lipstick: Your lips are the finishing touch on any look and I absolutely adore pink shades!
Favorite drugstore brand: Rimmel’s Moisture Renew lipstick in “Pink Chic”
Favorite name brand: MAC lipstick in “Viva Glam Gaga”
These lipsticks are my favorite shade of light pink and don’t dry out my lips.
Foundation: Having flawless skin is a must and is the basis of any makeup look.
Favorite drugstore brand: Maybelline’s FIT foundation in #230
Favorite name brand: Clinique Perfectly Real Makeup in shade #12
The foundations don’t irritate my sensitive skin and blend in smoothly. Clinique’s formula is fragrance-free and Maybelline’s has SPF 18 for sun protection as well.
Lip balm: I am obsessed with lip products and always worry about my lips becoming dry or cracked, so I carry these wherever I go.
Favorite drugstore brand: EOS chap stick in mint
Favorite name brand: Shiseido Benefiance Full Correction Lip Treatment
The lip balms provide long-lasting moisture and relief to my lips that tend to dry out easily.
Concealer: We all can get tired and have those days where we look a zombie so it’s important to have a good under eye concealer.
Favorite drugstore brand: Neutrogena 3-In-1 Concealer for eyes
Favorite name brand: Benefit’s Erase Paste in “No. 2″
Both concealers blend in well with smooth formulas. Neutrogena’s has built in SPF 30 and eye cream and Benefit’s has a salmon-colored undertone to combat the bluish shade of dark circles.
All these products can be found in store or online at Target and Sephora.
What are your favorite everyday makeup staples?

Mascara and under eye concealer is all I wear aside from a bit of translucent powder sometimes. And chapstick!

My favorite everyday make up staples are:
MAC Cosmetics false eyelashes nr: 46( I’ve always had problems to remove my mascara, so I rather to use false eyelashes instead. They’re easier to remove) / MAC Cosmetics Pressed Powder / BRTC BB cream / Benefit Concealer Erase Paste / Maxfactor eyeliner / Rosebud Strawberry Lip Balm

I typically wear Makeup Forever’s HD foundation, elf concealer, sephora powder foundation and Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara
Sometimes I wear elf’s blush and this peachy lipstick from Victoria’s Secret.

I don’t do foundation – it covers my freckles too much. Here is what I DO use on a pretty much daily basis (I use the 2-of-3 rule: if I’m doing bold eyes & lips, no cheeks – you get the idea), absolute must-haves in italics:
Face
Oil of Olay for Sensitive Skin, SPF 15
Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer with SPF 15 in Nude
Prescriptives bronzer in Light Beige
NARS blush in Orgasm
Eyes
Maybelline/Covergirl/Revlon shadow in a skin tone (possibly with a light shimmer) if doing a nude eye
Victoria’s Secret Duo (forget the color name)/Sephora Charcoal trio for a smoky eye
Lorac pencil eyeliner in Black
Stila Waterproof Liquid Liner in Black
L’Oreal Grow Lashes in Blackest Black (though I just picked up a new mascara – I’m obsesssed!)
Lips
Covergirl lip gloss in either Cherry or Peach
Just Bitten stain/gloss in the super-red shade (if doing a bold red lip)
Dior gloss in a bold, sparkly red (if doing a red lip)
Victoria’s Secret gloss in an array of shades
Bath & Body Works’ Overnight gloss to keep my lips in their best condition
It seems like a LOT, but really, I just love playing with makeup & changing up my look to fit my mood that morning!

@Xx_SCRiBBLY@xanga - Of course! I know makeup can be ridiculously priced sometimes so it’s always good to try drugstore products too.
