Casey Anthony wrote a book and now she’s on the hunt for a publisher to print her side of the story. Unfortunately for Anthony, when you’re the most hated person in America, most people don’t want to read what you have to say.
According to TMZ, an NBC new producer reached out to multiple big name publishing houses, because Anthony promised them a TV interview if they help her get a book deal. The responses were decidedly against the producer’s plea.
Simon and Shuster said: “We are 100% not interested. We are NOT NOT NOT interested. Simon & Schuster is not publishing, and has never intended to publish, any book by Casey Anthony, her family, or any member of her team.”
Harper Collins replied: “We are planning on publishing the Prosecutor’s book who was involved in the Casey Anthony case, so we have no plans in releasing a Casey Anthony book. We’re sticking with the prosecutor.”
And Penguin trumpeted: “We have no plans on doing a book deal with Casey Anthony.”
An undisclosed publisher even quipped: “Hell no…it’s blood money.”
I think that the only way Anthony will get a book published is if she confesses within its pages. It would need to be titled “I AM GUILTY” in all CAPS to garner anyone’s attention at this point.
Would you read Casey Anthony’s book?
guest
thank god no one will publish that crap. she needs to just go away…no one wants to hear about her anymore.
guest
Writing a book would seriously interfere with her clubbing.
guest
I wouldn’t even read that shit if it was a free e-book. I don’t want her psycho rubbing off on me.
guest
Isn’t she busy clubbing and being guilty… She is vile and disgusting and I am glad she is out of the media. I don’t want to hear anything she has to say, so no I would hopefully drop dead before i read her book.

AND NO ONE SHOULD BUY IT.
i didn’t even read the post, only the title. Seriously, this woman has received enough attention… if she wants to write a book, fine. Please don’t buy it.
guest
read it? maybe. buy it? hell to the motherfucking monkey no. the last thing anyone in america needs to do is line this babykiller’s pockets.

she should self-publish. She’ll sell a lot of copies.
You have to fight the politics of publishers. I’m also banned for being a “traitor.” They always call the places I try to publish to before I can get to them and make a big deal about me.

I know I’m not a bad writer because I’m popular on blogs.
I’m not a good writer due to my strange writing style, but I’m not horrific either.

“It would need to be titled “I AM GUILTY” in all CAPS”
Shut up already. You don’t know shit about this. Just because you watched some of the trial on TV and listened to some Nancy Grace rambling on about the horrible “tot mom” doesn’t mean you know for certain she is guilty. This isn’t an episode of CSI. Fact is, she was found innocent by a jury of her peers in court. DEAL WITH IT.
Really, unless you are someone who was intimately involved with this case, or an actual juror for the trial, sharing your opinion is pointless.
All you idiots screeching “Baby killer!” repeatedly – Give me some solid proof. (Oh wait, not even the state of Florida could find that… If you think you could do better, go ahead and try.)
This post = A massive, heavily biased FAIL.

I was going to make an OJ joke, but I don’t want to be “that girl” (again). Can we brainstorm title ideas for her?

There’s only certain things she can legally write about under the Son of Sam law which prevents criminals from profiting from the publicity of their crimes. She could write about the death/murder? of her daughter because she was acquitted but she would have to be careful not to include any of the crimes she was convicted of. Similarly, “in certain cases a Son of Sam law can be extended beyond the criminals
themselves to include friends, neighbors, and family members of the
lawbreaker who seek to profit by telling publishers and filmmakers of
their relation to the criminal.” So if anyone else was convicted of any crime relating to this case (I don’t know if there was, I really didn’t follow the trial all that closely, but I know there was talk of child/sexual abuse of the father and misconduct by a nanny?) She couldn’t write about those things either…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Son_of_Sam_law
Personally, I MIGHT read it if it is ever published just because I think it’s interesting….but I definitely wouldn’t buy it. I’d borrow it from a library or something just so none of my money is going to that woman! Lol
guest
No way would I read her book. Everything that comes out of her mouth is a
lie. And I would feel horrible putting money in to her pocket – money
she would be gaining from Caylee’s lost life. I don’t care about a damn
thing that woman has to say and I’m glad nobody is publishing that
rubbish.

I work in publishing for a division of Harper, and while the NewsCorp/Murdoch association sometimes makes me cringe, this made me proud of my parent company.

YEAH RIGHT, LADY.

I’d gladly read what she had to say. I don’t think she’s being given a fair shake in the public eye. Nobody here (myself included) saw what the 12 jurors saw. Only they and the legal counsel saw all the evidence, and they did the best they could with the evidence they had. If I were a publisher, I’d gladly accept her book for publication.
People seem to forget that you are innocent until proven guilty in most democratic countries (including the US). Casey Anthony clearly was not proven guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt, so we must assume her to be innocent. I may be the only person who believes this, but there it is.
She has the right to publish a book and the right to make money. In that light, she really needs to move to another country where nobody knows who she is, and it’s a fucking shame it’s coming to that level to make it to where she can even earn a living.

@blackspiders@xanga - I’m totally with you on that one. Nobody posting here was in the courtroom, and as such I don’t see how they can say they know she was guilty.

We may never know for sure if she is guilty of killing her daughter, but I think she shouldn’t be trying to publish a book whether she did it or not. Her name is mud because of the accusations made against her and the evidence found, whether it was contrived or otherwise. While I believe she’s guilty and can’t believe they let her go, she has the right to publish a book if she wants. The first amendment gives her that right.
However, I very much agree with the publishing companies who’ve turned her down. To back a book by Casey Anthony would be to tell the world that they agree with the jury. Considering most people don’t, I highly doubt she’s going to be gracing the New York Times Bestseller list anytime soon.
guest
I would like to smack in her Elfin face.
guest
id actually read it. i mean we never got clear answers from her so this might be some insight.
guest
@blackspiders@xanga - While I don’t think juries are perfect, and their word shouldn’t be taken as holy text, I agree; people don’t know shit (and neither do I, so I’ll do the smart thing and suspend my judgment).
Frankly, I’d read the book just out of curiosity. Then maybe I’ll see if I can research some of what the trial had to say.
guest
Lol! Twilight girl.
guest
@blackspiders@xanga -
You’re an idiot…. because a jury found her
not guilty, she’s not guilty? Guess what, O.J simpson was also found not guilty
the first few times. Just because someone is found guilty, doesn’t mean they
are guilty. People get thrown into jail for years while being innocent all the
time. Same goes for guilty people. People sometimes walk free while they are guilty.
These are hard facts, go look online or go visit your ‘courts’ so you can be there
in person to see innocent people get locked up and guilty people walk free.
The COURTS have released a lot of FACTS to the public. One of them being that
she did NOT report her child missing for days/weeks. What kind of a mother goes
out partying while her child is missing? Really? Another being that she LIED to the police over
and over again AND accused someone else of hurting/kidnapping her child. Does a
mother who is innocent lie to the police? The same police who wants to help her
find her child? No, a normal person does not act the way she did. There’s
absolutely no excuse for her behaviour. If anything she might have delayed the whole case by misleading the police and sending them on ‘wild goose chases’. Does that prove she’s guilty? No, but
in combination with the other facts it does, in MY opinion. She’s an awful
mother who doesn’t give a f-ck at best and a murderer at worst. Either ways,
she deserves to have her ovaries ripped out and be locked up in jail for a very
long time.
”Really, unless you are someone who was intimately
involved with this case, or an actual juror for the trial, sharing your opinion
is pointless.” — Really girl? That means the things we can talk about goes
down from –everything- to about -10%-, only the things we were ‘involved’ with. Tell me, how much crap have you talked about today without actually being involved? Do you talk about your favourite artist? Singer? Do you gossip? Everyone does you hypocrite. Sharing your opinion is allowed, it’s a free country. Sharing your opinion online is also allowed. The only thing not welcome is dumbasses like you going around telling people they cannot express their point of view. The ONLY
pointless thing here is you trying to tell people that they are not allowed to
talk about this and discuss this, because people have and people always will
despite your pathetic attempt at trying to be on the ‘other side’. ‘‘Woaaah
look at me! I am not for or against Casey, I’M FOR THE JUSTICE SYSTEMMMM’’.
Stop being such a f-cking moron, really. I shook my head in disappointment when
I read your post. I can’t believe there are people as stupid as you on this
planet. The only fail here are your parents, take one guess why. Damn hippie.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
let’s burn them all, don’t buy them… just take them so she doesn’t get money, and torch the s#!+ out of them. :)

i’m not by any means a casey anthony fan, and i wouldn’t read her book because there are too many other books i’d rather spend my time reading, but i don’t understand why her publishing a book is more offensive than oj’s “if i did it” book. casey anthony’s not even necessarily going to write something disgusting and tasteless like that, and she’s turned down by everyone, but oj wrote a book about how he “hypothetically” would’ve killed his wife “had he done it” and that was fine and dandy. not to be all obnoxiously feminist here but i can’t help but think this might be a gender issue.
guest
I’d be interested to see what the bitch has to say but otherwise i would not buy her damn book.
SHE MURDERED that kid. MURDERED her own daughter. how do you do that? Like seriously. She could had gave her up for adoption but no to kill that pretty little girl. She didn’t even report the child missing!
She a fucking bitch and i wouldn’t be surprised if she was found with a bullet in her head in 6 months. Bonus that the police won’t “TRY” very hard to find her killer either. Bc EVERYONE FUCKING HATES HER!
guest
No.
guest
What could she possibly have that I”d want or care to read about anyway?
HOW ABOUT A DETAILED ACCOUNT OF HER SUICIDE.
guest
Everybody talks like they think they know what really happened. There is a reason (or many) why the jury found her NOT guilty. Do you know how difficult it is to get away with murder? Do you know how many sociopaths much smarter and more charming than anthony have tried to get away, yet haven’t? I’m not saying she’s not guilty but I am so sick of everyone hating her when they really have no clue what the fuck happened. If sometime in the future, authorities do find a murderer proven guilty whom is not Anthony, all of you are going to look back at all the ugly things you said and wished on this women and it’ll make you sick.
guest
One more thing: the author of this article wants to be a journalist? Please, JenniferD if you do choose to go into the field of journalism, do not go into news journalism. Bias is an unattractive thing, especially in important and influential media such as the news.
guest
Seriously? That book would sell SO FAST. People would be dying to read it.
guest
@byebyebyeh@xanga - Wow. I can’t even begin to describe how hateful you sound – it’s mind-blowing. I’m going to ignore your first two paragraphs, because I really don’t have the time, and you just really turn into an ass in your last two.
She was not, in any way, shape, or form, telling you that you are not allowed to state your opinion. She was simply saying, it’s not going to help. You screaming obscenities will not put her in jail. She wasn’t trying to take away your right to “freedom of speech.” But even so, just because you have the freedom to speak your mind does NOT mean that gives you the right to be rude and tactless. If you want to be taken seriously, try thinking your comment out before you post it. Also, if you have a right to your opinion, does that not mean that she does as well? Mocking her stance on the issue does not make you seem better or wiser than her – it makes you seem like you are still in the fourth grade.
Finally, I just want to point out that you have no way to infer what her parents were like, or how their raised her. Her parents could be conservative just like you, or they could be “hippies”. Either way, you seem to be taking these arguments out of thin air. And instead of actually attacking her argument, you’re simply mocking and trying to put her down. Again, this makes you out to look like you’re in elementary school and haven’t learned how to deal with even a play-ground argument.
guest
I clicked on this post for the arguments. Keep at it, guys.

@blackspiders@xanga - You do know that the entire trial (with the exception of a couple of photos of the skull) was streamed live on the web, right? So basically, yes, it was possible for the public to have access to all of the information that the jury had. In fact, in some ways, the public had even more information than the jury did because we were able to view courtroom discussions between the attorneys that the jurors did not see because they had been removed from the courtroom.
guest
@byebyebyeh@xanga - I don’t think you had to be so rude to her. @blackspiders@xanga was just saying that we can’t say for sure Casey is guilty, but I didn’t get the impression from her post that she wholehartedly believes Casey is innocent or anything; she’s just saying people should be more open-minded and not jump to conclusions. Honestly, if you’re trying to prove that she is a “moron,” then you are no better for being so bashful and even bringing her parents into the argument (personal attacks – not cool. Parental attacks – extremely low. You don’t even know if she has parents or grew up with them).
guest
@TakingxOverxMe@xanga - LOL I so agree. That’s how America works.. these publishers are stupid to decline, they could make a serious buck. But I guess they’re declicining for moral reasons *shrugs* But knowing corporate America, greed > morals so that makes no sense to me.

Unfortunately, I think a lot of people would read this book, actually.
guest
@ToMarilyn@xanga - Yes, I’m thoroughly confused, as well. Ha.
guest
of course people want to read it, they’re just on their high horse about her. they will tell you they will not read it, don’t want her to profit, etc., but they will read it anyway. i will read it, but i’ll get in line and check it out of the library because that is what i do with all books, har.
guest
You couldn’t pay me to read her book. I’m glad some of the biggest publishers have turned her down.

Is book burning still allowed?
………..

she should look into the scumbags that published OJ’s book.
guest
ummmmm. NO.
NOand again, a thousand times no.
guest
There are two sides to every story, you know, and I think it’s extremely ignorant that so many people would be unwilling to what hear she has to say.
Yeah, I do think she’s guilty of killing her daughter but that wouldn’t stop me from hearing what she has to say about it.
guest
no way, not going to pay anything to her.
if she wants to tell her side, then just blog about it for free
and I might be curious to read it. otherwise, her story isn’t worth any money and she shouldn’t charge money to tell it if she is not guilty.
guest
I wouldn’t read it even if it was a free e-book.
guest
i don’t understand why THIS case was so famous and made so many people angry…this kind of shit happens EVERY FUCKING DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (parents killing their kids)

@blackspiders@xanga - Thank you.
