We had a bit of a thing a while back, but I have always been an ambitious person and I want to achieve my own notoriety for what I’ve done. That’s why I chose not to pursue it any longer, because I didn’t want to be the boyfriend of some child actress.”
– Francis Boulle, 22, Emma Watson’s former flame, speaking about their relationship in an interview with Heat magazine. Boulle is appearing on the British reality TV show Made in Chelsea. I guess you’re right, Boulle; you’re totally beating Emma at life now. [via Celebuzz]

Ha. Sounds like someone’s bitter. Don’t be mad because she’s better than you, bro.

wow who dismisses emma watson like that? she is so much classier than he deserves!

“I want to achieve my own notoriety for what I’ve done.”
….Funny, because I’ve never heard of you before your snarky comments about Emma. Hmmm. Cool story, bro.

I mean, whatever, hate all you want, but I see his point, and I think it’s kind of respectable. Millions of people would fall over themselves at the chance to date a celebrity solely for the point of gaining fame themselves by association. He may not be the star of some great film right now, but everyone has to get their start somewhere, and at least he recognizes that he’d rather get to where he wants to be by his own accomplishments than riding the coattails of his girlfriend.
guest
I really don’t think he’s being a jerk or trying to sound like he’s better than her. All he said was he doesn’t just want to be known as her boyfriend, but rather people see him as an individual. As someone with a well known family, I can relate to that.

Maybe it’s the comments he made + his shirt + his hair + the whole “drape my jacket over shoulder with one finger” thing, buuuut….kinda looks like a douche. That is my snap judgment for today.

I think what pisses me off is that he called her “some child actress”. It sounds so condescending. He could have simply said that he didn’t want to be the boyfriend of a “well-known” actress. He would have come off as less of a jerk..

@Oceans_Like_Fire@xanga - Except for the fact that you’ve probably never heard of him outside of his comment about Emma Watson. How ironic is that? His fame solely rests in his ability to name drop.
guest
Sounds like he’s cashing in on it right now anyway. Otherwise why even mention it at all? Dating her obviously did something for his fantastic reality television show career. He’s a big name these days.
*eye roll*

@ohveryoung@xanga - Well sure, but there’s plenty of people I’ve never heard of, and this magazine asked him for an interview and obviously asked him specifically about Emma Watson. I sincerely doubt that he called them up with a comment about Emma Watson completely unprovoked.

I feel like the way he said it was a bit snarky, but I suppose I see his point.
Even so, Emma deserves the best. She’ll find someone that loves her and won’t feel minimized just because she’s a successful actress.
guest
A silly reason if you ask me. And besides, she’s hot. I think I’d endure especially if that was the reason.
guest
I think she’s far better than just “some child actress.” This guy is a jerk–not for breaking up with her, but for minimizing her talent.
daisy / 639 posts
The guy is a douche not because of what he said, he’s entitled to think it if he wants and I won’t judge, but the way he said it. Poor Emma having to deal with him for however long it was.
guest
@pikaaa - I couldn’t agree more with you. He could of worded it in a better way..
guest
wow. I bet he regret that now.
guest
@ohveryoung@xanga - That was my reaction! Uhm, never heard of you dude, even when you were dating Emma. So apparently her fame wasn’t translating to you. Just do your own thing and people will recognize you for it.

He just wanted to be with her to get with her attractive male friends… xD

Coming from a moron who’s on Made in Chelsea? Emma had a lucky escape!
guest
@ohveryoung@xanga - If you think about it this guy is a U.K. actor and most people only pay attention to celebrities in their own country. That’s not to say that some people don’t pay attention to celebrities overseas.
OP: I understand what he’s saying, he just should have worded it differently. I would have said, I don’t want to become famous because I dated a celebrity.
guest
HE DID NOT JUST DISS MY GIRLFRIEND.
guest
I understand his view. Honestly, I’m not sure if I’d want to be known for being “so-and-so’s girlfriend” rather than for who I am. And it’s a lot of pressure to be with somebody so famous and successful when you’re, well, not. Especially for a guy (just saying, most guys I know would not honestly be okay with it). I’m sure his comments weren’t intended to be snarky. Remember that magazines are out for quotes that will sell. Even if he said tons of complimentary things about Emma, they print this one line and suddenly he’s horrible. And honestly, she is a child actress. I love her and all, but he didn’t call her a horrible name or anything false. So just chill, people. Emma is fine.

asshole!

@kev1nccho1@xanga - Go kick his sorry ass!

@theflowerstem@xanga - just saying, he’s not an actor. Made in Chelsea is kind of a rip-off of Jersey Shore. He’s a “reality TV star” and essentially, a nobody.
guest
Notice how the people who comment are Emma Watson fans. What’s wrong with being ambitious? I mean, do you WANT to be in someone’s shadow.
guest
Well, if he doesn’t want to date Emma Watson, then I will.
guest
He phrases his reasoning poorly, but I think if he’s telling the truth about his ambitions, he made a good decision. After all, Emma Watson is definitely famous, and if he stayed with her, he would probably be most popularly known as “Emma’s boyfriend”, instead of being known for his own accomplishments. He didn’t want to live in the shadow of his significant other, which I imagine is an important factor to consider when dating a celebrity.
guest
I’ve heard of Emma Watson. Now, will someone please tell me who this person is?
orchid / 155 posts
He’s totally jealous. Like, who cares what you’re known as? If he liked her enough, it shouldn’t matter than her fame outshadows his own.
He seems bitter. He totally is a d-bag. She isn’t just “some child actress.” She’s probably one of the most well-rounded, intelligent young adults around these days. She’s a veryyyy good role model.
sunflower / 308 posts
I respect what he said but, he doesn’t have to share it to the whole world. It like announcing to everyone that he was the dumper not the dumpy. I’m sure all of Emma Watson’s fan is bashing him right now for saying that he dump her.
guest
His loss! Shes a babe.
guest
what a dick.
guest
He sounds like a prick. If you don’t want to be known because of her then why did you make a public statement concerning her?
guest
What? Emma Watson is like the prettiest girl ever. I’d go lesbian for her. He’s stupid.
guest
I’ve been lucky enough to actually be in Emma Watson’s presence and she could not have been a nicer (or lovelier) person. I can’t imagine anyone being so rude, disrespectful, and needlessly vindictive. Epic fail, man.
guest
I’m sorry but he actually looks rather gay ;P Did anyone else pick up on that?
guest
And the award for the Dumbest man alive goes to….
*Drum roll please*
The jerk who dumped Emma Watson
