A digital retoucher made some nips and tucks to Audrey Hepburn‘s face in promotional photos for 1961′s Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Because if anyone needs retouching, it’s plain and dowdy Audrey Hepburn!
A new book by Sarah Gristwood, which is being released for the 50th anniversary of the movie, shows the before-and-after photos, with pencil lines indicating where a retoucher smoothed out Audrey’s faint lines and crow’s feet. Looks like even the (arguably) most beautiful actress of all time couldn’t escape society’s need to make her look even more flawless. [NY Post]

I’m entirely convinced no one is ever beautiful enough for Hollywood.

@Ashley Nicole Anders@facebook - I fully understand that bit, it’s the whole “eliminating microscopic crow’s feet” thing and so on that gets to me.

in both pictures audrey is flawless, she doesnt need to be changed at all she’s a timeless classic and beautiful whether she has crows feet or faint lines. imperfections make people unique and extremely beautiful anyway, we dont need to change ourselves and we certainly dont need other people to change us.

well… there’s always room for improvement… it is a really old picture after all.

I really don’t see much of a difference, expect for the contrast. She’s stunning and doesn’t need photo shop.

@MoonFaeEyryan@xanga - Exactly. It’s pretty much bullshit.

if there were crow’s feet in the original picture, i couldn’t see it. i think changing the contrast makes the latter picture more polished (and i don’t think it was done to augment audrey.)

It looks like the levels were just adjusted. x_x
