Kristen Stewart is stepping away from vampires and werewolves for a bit, and taking on the lead role in “Snow White and the Huntsman.” In a twist to the fairy tale that we all know and love, the Huntsman ordered to kill Snow White ends up becoming her protector and mentor in a quest to vanquish the Evil Queen. The movie, which will be the first of a trilogy, also stars Chris Hemsworth as Eric the Huntsman and Charlize Theron as Ravenna, the Evil Queen. It’s set to hit theaters June 1, 2012.

Clearly she’s never ridden a horse before or else she would know to keep her heels down, like the guy on the right. I’ll give her props for at least trying though, because horseback riding is deceptively difficult.

Haven’t seen any of the Twilight movies, but this looks interesting … Kristen Stewart seems cool. And I’m a fan of modern twists on old fairy tales.
