The soap opera All My Children has been cancelled after over forty years on the air.  After being around for so long, it is unsurprising that the show has been the birthplace of many of the careers of the most well-known actors of today. 

I bet you won’t guess all of the stars who started out on the soap opera…


1. Sarah Michelle Gellar
Sarah Michelle Gellar starred on All My Children from 1993-1995 and even won a Daytime Emmy for her role as Kendall Hart Slater.  Gellar then moved on to star in some movies and eventually became famous for her role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  She currently has a show on the CW called The Ringer.


2.  Amanda Seyfried
Amanda Seyfreid was on AMC from 2002-2003 as Joni Stafford.  She is now a Hollywood starlet with a great movie career.


3.  Michelle Trachtenberg
Like her Buffy co-star, Trachtenberg also got her start on AMC.  She played Lily Montgomery from 1993-1996.  Now, she has recurring roles in Gossip Girl and Weeds.


4.  Mischa Barton
Mischa Barton took over for Michelle Trachtenberg as Lily Montgomery for one episode in 1995, but didn’t become famous until her role as Marissa Cooper in The O.C.


5. Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos
Kelly Ripa played Hayley Vaughn and Mark Consuelos played Mateo Santos.  Oddly enough, the couple married both on the show and in real life.
