Remember when I told my Pottermore registration story? Well, I’ve been in for about three weeks now, and am officially a proud Hufflepuff! As a lifelong assumed Ravenclaw, I had a moment or two of “um, excuse me, what?” after my sorting. But after reading the welcome message (which described my personality to a T), and with the knowledge that Tonks and JK Rowling herself are fellow housemates, I’m obnoxiously full of badger pride. Hufflepuff isn’t a house full of pushovers; we live peacefully until we’re attacked, and “cross us at your peril.” We know we’re awesome, and that’s enough — we don’t have to brag about it. And I’m quite flattered to be called patient, hard-working, and loyal!
Being so excited about my house has led me to a problem: my wardrobe is extremely lacking in yellow. So today I went searching for some cute (and cheap) ways to wear my House color. Here are some of my favorites.
Jewelry – Style Watches Square Rubber Watch, $24.00 from National Jean Co.
This watch is super cute, and would be a really fun pop of color to any neutral outfit.
Leather Cord Peace Bracelet, $15.00 from Max & Chloe
Everyone knows Hufflepuff is the most peaceful house! This bracelet lets me be a proud ‘puff and showcase my inner hippie.
7 Hills Skinny Leather Flower Belt, $13.97 from Piperlime
A skinny belt is a wardrobe staple, so why not make a statement with it? The mustard yellow is a bit more muted than the lemony shades, making it work appropriate, but the flowers add a fun and feminine touch.
Houndstooth Square Shawl, 14 Yellow and Black, $29.99 from Amazon
Not only is this scarf/shawl/whatever you want to call it cute, but it’s both of Hufflepuff’s colors to boot. Miami isn’t the best place for scarves, but this would be perfect for a chilly winter day.
Grapefruit Yellow Crochet Beanie, from Amazon
Again, maybe not the best for Miami, but I’m a northerner at heart! The button accents are adorable, and the slouchy beanie looks so nice and warm… just like Hufflepuff.
What do you think of my choices? Are there any Ravenclaws, Slytherins, and Gryffindors that would want me to do this for your houses as well?

Not gonna lie, if I sign up for Pottermore I kinda want to be in Hufflepuff so I can buy a honey badger shirt.

You’ve been in Pottermore for 3 weeks?! Wth I haven’t even gotten my e-mail yet!
guest
I have no idea what any of that means. Never read or saw and Harry Potter. Didn’t mean to boycott it, it just happened and now I feel some strange need to keep it that way. But, um…congrats?

@blondexsunshine@xanga - SAME HERE!!! I’m hoping for Ravenclaw.

I can’t wait for October when I can join Pottermore. I’m thinking I’ll probably be a Hufflepuff but I’m happy with that.

I’m impatiently waiting till October for registration to open. Im hoping for gryffindor or ravenclaw . I just bought this ultra cool Gryffindor beanie and scarf set from http://www.buyharrypottercostumes.com/ (legit site). They have stuff for the different houses. so you can get a hufflepuff sweater and other things.

I’ve been on the sight for a little over a week. I ended up in Ravenclaw; I figured I would end up in Ravenclaw or Slytherin. I’m very happy with the house I ended up in.

I’m in Hufflepuff too! Since I’ve been sorted, my favorite thing to say is “Hufflepuff badger don’t cur…”

@aheartofglitter@xanga - o_0
I read this and wonder how people can obsess this much over HP/Pottermore. I mean, everyone’s entitled to like whatever they want, and as long as they’re happy it’s all good, but most people I know kinda got over Harry Potter before high school even. So yeah. This doesn’t even interest me at all and I commented anyway. :0

@blackspiders@xanga - I’m 23 years old and I LOVE Harry Potter. I know tons of people my age who love it as well. Sooo, if this doesn’t interest you, why did you waste your time commenting on this post?
guest
I’m a Ravenclaw! I’m pretty excited about it.. I never really assumed I fitted in any particular house and I was going to be happy with whatever, but now I totally agree with the sorting I ended up with.
guest
@blackspiders@xanga - I agree! Although for me Harry Potter is for any age. I’m glad that HP has brightened so many people’s lives (as well as my own), but I always find a bit uncomfortable when people get way too into it (not saying that Darci is, because she’s not. I meant for other people).

@blackspiders@xanga - I think most people don’t “get over” Harry Potter because it’s their childhood. I grew up literally with Harry – I was 11 when I read the first book, and as the other books got more “complex” and “darker”, I grew up too, as did the characters. The final film came out just as I graduated university, so I think for a lot of people it truly is their childhood and teenage years, if that makes any sense.
OP – I got sorted 3 weeks ago too and I got Slytherin, aha.

i can’t believe you bought stuff in the color of a make-believe House. you would NEVER know if you’re really a hufflepuff b/c harry potter isn’t real. but i like the color yellow, and those things are cute
guest
I definitely thought I was going to be a hufflepuff because I’ve always been loyal, hard-working, and all of those things, BUT turns out I’m a Gryffindor! I think a secret part of me wishes I could take the spotlight a little more than a Hufflepuff : )
But anyway, I love the watch!!! So much. I’m really into watches and boyfriend watches and its great to see some color ones. Congrats on getting into Pottermore!

@soulofacancer@xanga - I’m in Ravenclaw. I hope to see you there, friend… or maybe foe. The sorting hat will tell all.

@written_conversations@xanga - I read through up to the fifth book all the way through, the first one was released when I was just entering second grade. It just didn’t stick with me. Other things happened in my childhood – You know, other interests like pursuing art and reading tons of other books. I guess my actual childhood ended long before the last movie came out. I obsess over other books the way people obsess over Harry Potter, but I wouldn’t say any of those things – art, reading, etc – made up my entire childhood. And yeah, I’ve got some HP shit buried in my closet: a Hermione doll (two, actually) and a board game I received for my birthday one year. When I think back on my childhood, Harry Potter is just one of those small phases, like my Furbies and my obsession with crafting animals from string and plastic pony beads. :/

I can’t wait till October! I wanna know what House I’m in! And those clothes are really cute.

@xxx_MYLiFE@xanga - I haven’t bought any of this stuff, and I’m very much aware that Harry Potter isn’t real. That doesn’t mean I can’t have fun with my made up house!

Can I just say that I hate it when people are all, “Omg, why are you so obsessed with Harry Potter? I don’t get it!!”
If you don’t get it, you never will.
There’s no point in commenting the same thing every time on a Harry Potter or fandom-centric post.
Some people love it, others don’t.
WHO CARES IF WE TALK ABOUT IT A LOT. There are plenty of Potterheads on this site and it’s not like that’s all we talk about. It’s something we can all share. It helps people bond, and not in a negative way like drinking does or gossiping does. It’s something we love and therefore, we’re happier because of it. Why do you need to diminish it?
Anyway… OP, I thought I was going to be a Ravenclaw too, but I got Hufflepuff. Lol I had the same “Wtf?” moment, but now I kind of like it. I never felt like I could be a Hufflepuff but now I’m like, meh, they’re houses. It’s not the end of the world. Besides, we have the most amount of people in our house. Apparently there are way more Hufflepuffs in the world than we may have realized. o_O

When I did the sorting quiz, I guess the hat couldn’t decide because the final question asked if I would rather be a Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff. I had always identified with Ravenclaw, so that is what I chose and that is where I was placed. And blue is my favorite color, so yay!

This is what happened to me. I have always claimed that I belonged to Ravenclaw. I have all the traits that a Ravenclaw has. I got my pottermore email yesterday and I got sorted into Hufflepuff. I was like, uhhh I don’t think so. This is the last house I would want to be sorted into.
guest
Very awesome! I suspect I’m a Hufflepuff myself.

@blackspiders@xanga - So you’re telling me, an interest of yours when you are a child – you are suppose to just grow out of it like everyone else? Perhaps like a book, for example: I loved books when I was a child, not even to “obsess” over but have an interest in, and because my friends don’t all read & I’m 19… I should stop reading? Huh, I don’t much like that idea. You don’t know me, so please don’t compare me to your friends, thanks.
