If you guys are paying close attention to my sucktastic self-portraits in the mirror, you might notice that I have a new bedroom! I moved rooms within my apartment. Cool, right? But as you can see, it took me about 2.3 seconds to make this one as messy as my old one. Ok, moving on.
This is my outfit today:
- Plum tank from New York & Co.
- High-waisted brown pants from H&M
- Key necklace from Forever 21
- AMAZING SHOES from my roommate who didn’t want them anymore and we wear the same size!
Yeah, I kind of FLOVE these shoes. The kitten heel is still walkable for New York, and the colors are fun while still being kind of neutral, so you can wear them with plum and brown (at least, I think so).
What do you think?

I think that length for pants is awkward-looking to me lol. But those shoes are really cute!

I think the shoes are cute and the pants & top work together just fine, but I don’t think the shoes, pants and top work well all together. Just my $0.02.

I sorta dont know what to say. My first impression was to say that it didn’t work… but the longer I looked at it the cuter I thought you looked. I think the shoes might have thrown me off.

@Cestovatelka@xanga - I know…they used to be full length but then I put them in the dryer and they shrank. Fail
guest
@Jessica - Aww man. That’s a bummer! :-\
guest
The pants look kinda short. looks good, but im not very fashionable myself so…
guest
cute
guest
pants are way too short! *fail*
guest
I like the pants and top together, but like the others mentioned, the pants are a little too short. I think the shoes are cute, but for some reason, I don’t think neon yellow on the shoes to go with the brown and plum.
guest
I think in order for it to work, the color in the shoes need to at least be in the same “color family” as the shirt. If the shirt were a bright purple, the shoes would be OK. If they aren’t in the same family (bold and bold, neon and neon, pastel and pastel), then they should be as close to a similar color as possible OR the shirt should have patterns or you should have another bright yellow accessory.
I don’t think the outfit is bad, its cute. I probably wouldn’t have noticed it if you hadn’t asked what I thought.

I like it all except the shoes. They’re cute, but I don’t think they’re the right colour for this outfit. If the shoes were black, I think that would be cute though

I like the neon yellow/chartreuse with brown and plum, it’s unexpected. So I am a fan (even though I think the pants are too short, I’m wearing some kinda short jeans today so it happens). My theory is: if you like it, then it works
AND I FREAKING WANT THOSE SHOES.
guest
I would cuff the pants and find a non-earth toned outfit for the bright shoes. I like all of the pieces, just not together, like most other people have posted.
guest
The pants might be an inch or two too short but I like it. It’s mature yet youthful if that makes any sense. I also like how the neutral pants look with a bold pair of shoes.
guest
I like it all except the shoe colour
I love the style of the shoes though
guest
I love the shirt and the pants together. For some reason, the shoes with that outfit aren’t doing it for me.
But those shoes by themselves = yes.
guest
I think it is cute! It would be cuter if the pants hadn’t shrank in the dryer, because then the shoes wouldn’t be as much of a POP! as they are, thus blending the whole outfit. If you could find a green accessory (bracelet?) to match the green in the shoes, you’d be all set.

@Where_Senses_Fail@xanga - Yeah I know. I should really stop wearing these pants, shouldn’t I? I will probably keep wearing them, though. Oh well.
guest
the shoes don’t go with it at all, otherwise it’s good. i wouldn’t wear it, though.

With the top and pants, I’d go for different shoes in the same color family and with a taller heel because the way the pants are cut so short, it makes you look short. And then the lower heeled shoe makes it a little awkward visually. Otherwise, cool!

Not a fan of the pants honestly. Maybe they are a bit too baggy for me and wrinkly. But yeah, the shoes don’t go well with it. The height and color of the shoes really kills the outfit for me.

I think I would’ve worn different shoes… those look a little bit awkward. I would’ve gone with something taller and with a chunky heel (not a wedge, though) that had some low strap around the middle of the foot (the “empeine”… I don’t know what it’s called in english, sorry). The rest looks real good, in my opinion

@Jessica - If anything, I’d put the hem up a little bit more so that it wouldn’t look so “oops, I didn’t buy them like this, it happened in the dryer” and more like “yeah, they’re long capris, so what?” I have no clue if I’m explaining myself correctly haha
guest
It’s cute but there’s a disconnect between the pants, your shoes and the floor. If you had some tall wedge shoes and gold bangle bracelets, you would look incredibly sleek. Plum, tan and gold always give that expensive look. The pants would look cute with some taller, metallic peep toe heels.
Your shoes are so stylish and would look incredible with dark blue skinny jeans and that top or another lose 80′s inspired tee.
They would also look incredibly hot with a black pencil skirt and a white top: the black and white would really make that yellow on the shoes pop. Add a few yellow or aqua accessories and you’d be banging.
guest
Roll up pants! I do that with a pair of too short jeans. Like people said, it looks more like long capris.
And, omg, Jessica, I would totally raid your closet. How do you get your awesome flippy hair. D:

I think it works and the shoes are fine with it I just think there may be a slightly better option. Maybe try some flats(black)? if the pants are a bit short. I wish I could give more of a opinion but I’m the type of person who needs to play around with things to see what looks good. From what I can tell though it wouldn’t be horrible to wear it like that, look at all of the stars these days… they get away with ANYTHING…. that’s what makes fashion unique :]

BURN THOSE PANTS
guest
kitten heels and highwater cuffed pants don’t work-some higher heels would probably look more appealing. high waisted pants or jeans give the mom look. the heels are cute and would look good with a form fitting pencil skirt

I love it! Except the shoes. It’s just a personal opinion of mines, though. I’m not a fan of super short heels unless they’re unnoticeable. I would have maybe stuffed the pants into combat boots or folded the pants up a weeee but more

I have no fashion sense, but the second to last picture is adorable.

change the shoes or the pants, or ask people to stare at you for 15 minutes to figure out if it’s cute or not.
It really is cute…I mean, I think? ha.Love it all, but not all together.
guest
I adore the color scheme and the concept. The only thing I might swap out are the pants – maybe for some high-waisted jeans. It would bring in a fun seventies vibe without being too obvious.
guest
I think the top and the pants go well, and the shoes look cute itself. But the shoes won’t go with that outfit, just my opinion. <3
guest
I like it. It doesn’t work at first glance, but somehow after a longer look, it does.
guest
i think its cute actually. and the length is fine. cute cute cute!
guest
In the first picture, I thought ew! Those pants look like gramma pants! But in the more close up picture, they are cuter. I would go with another poster’s suggestion, see if you can cuff them up a bit so they are a less awkward length. Otherwise, I might stop wearing them. The shoes are very cute, but not with those pants (but I do think they’d be good with that shirt if you had some other color pants on). So I’d lose the pants and keep the shirt/shoes, or lose the shoes and keep the shirt/pants.
guest
No.
guest
I love it!
guest
i like everything about this except the rise of the pants. i think if they were a tad higher on the waist it would be perfect. i actually do like the length of the pants with those shoes.
guest
I like the shoes, and the rest of the outfit, but not together. The shoes just aren’t working with that outfit.
guest
im not feeling the shoes
guest
Not a fan of the shoes, or the length of the pants.
guest
I think it would be really cute if the pants were a little bit more fitted and rolled up on the ends. The pants just look kind of awkward right now. The rest is really cute though. <3 the shoes!
I wish my bangs would look as great as yours!
guest
I am loving everything about the outfit EXCEPT the shoes. Don’t get me wrong, the shoes are super cute, but they don’t match with the rest of the outfit, IMO.
guest
Roll up the pants.. and shoes.. probably a different pair?
guest
I think the pant length doesn’t exactly work with the shoes. They’re both really cute don’t get me wrong, but something about it doesn’t entirely wow me.
guest
The pants are not too long, they’re too short! Roll them up a couple inches and change the shoes to maybe a red or neutral brown/purple (the white and yellow throw the entire outfit off, as cute as the shoes are). That said, the outfit is adorable and definitely looks like something I would wear myself.
