Friday was my final day as an Editorial Intern at Lovelyish. It has really been fantastic writing and editing for this wonderful website and, like my fellow interns have done, I’ve chosen my favorite and most memorable Lovelyish posts from my amazing time here.
If there was one celebrity that I loved writing about, it was Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (aka Kate Middleton). From my series of “What Kate Wore” posts, including her chic and sophisticated looks at another royal wedding, What Kate Wore: Kate Middleton at Another Royal Wedding to her and Prince William’s big welcome in California during their North American tour this past summer, William & Kate Get Big Welcome at Polo Match, I just adore and loved writing about the Duchess of Cambridge and the British Royal Family in general.
But I also gave some love to one of my favorite artists, the always newsworthy Lady Gaga. I was your personal stylist to the Mother Monster’s tough rocker-gladiator outfit in Style Inspiration: Lady Gaga in “The Edge of Glory”, made sure you Lovelies saw Gaga get her water works on as a judge on the hit FOX show So You Think You Can Dance in [WATCH] Lady Gaga Brought To Tears on “So You Think You Can Dance, caused a bit of traffic with Lady Gaga’s Fans Attack Adele on Twitter, and introduced you to (the now VMA-famous) Jo Calderone in [PHOTO] Lady Gaga Is Manly (Literally) on ‘You and I’ Single Cover. Like I said, there’s always something everyday that Lady Gaga does or says that becomes top news!
Then, there’s my other girl, the legendary Miss Britney Spears. I absolutely love Britney, she was my first favorite pop star growing up and continues to be one of my favorites. I showed Lovelies and fellow Britney fans her amazing video for her hit Femme Fatale single “I Wanna Go” in [WATCH] Video Premiere: Britney Spears “I Wanna Go”, took you through the opening night of her “Femme Fatale” tour this summer in Britney is Back! Opening Night of Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale Tour, talked about her mini-Britney tribute (which I wished was more epic!) at last month’s MTV Video Music Awards in The 7 Best Moments from the 2011 VMAs, and finally, wrote my ode to my favorite Britney songs in 10 Britney Songs That I’ll Never Get Tired of Listening (and Dancing) To. All hail the pop princess.
Then, there was all of that Glee news that I’m sure pleased plenty of Lovelyish Gleeks! From reliving the amazing Season 2 finale which I loved because they were in New York City and there was a scene (see photo above) of the talented New Directions running, singing, and dancing through my beloved Washington Square Park (I go to NYU) in Let’s Relive the “Glee” Season 2 Finale, Shall We?, to keeping you updated on the best late night show interviews such as [WATCH] Glee’s Cory Monteith on Jimmy Fallon, to stirring some traffic with Did Lea Michele Get Charice Fired From Glee?, to giving a sneak peek into Season 3 in [PHOTOS] It’s Picture Day for the Cast of ‘Glee’, I just couldn’t stop writing about one of my favorite TV shows and the talented students and faculty of McKinley High.
But what about Lovelyish favorites (and beautiful and talented actors) James Franco and Ryan Gosling? Yes, I wrote about them too! I wrote about James’ next career move (of the many, many careers that he has held by now) in James Franco To Teach Art and showed you a not-so-alive James in [PHOTO] James Franco Sheds Some Blood on ‘General Hospital’. As for the equally cool Mr. Gosling, I showed you his great interview with his adorable, mohawk-donning dog George on Jimmy Fallon in [WATCH] Ryan Gosling Brings His Dog on the Jimmy Fallon Show and broke the unfortunate news of his current relationship in OMG! Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes Are Dating. I think we can be sure that these two awesome guys will continue to make some news in the future!
There’s my love for Kate Middleton, then there’s my love for Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn (the photo above of them is one of my favorites), my two favorite actresses in the world. Most Lovelies know this by now and it’s most likely through both my author bio and my posts about them. They were featured in two of my favorite lists that I’ve made, The 5 Classic Movies That I’ll Always Love and 5 Classic Actresses Who I Adore, and once again, I was a personal stylist for one the chic Givenchy outfits that Audrey wore in Funny Face (1957) in Classic Style Inspiration: Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face. The former Princess Grace of Monaco and Audrey (who just happen to both be Oscar-winning actresses) are and always will be an inspiration to me in life and when it comes to my personal style.
Finally, I loved either writing about or mentioning Europe, my favorite place in the world! I dished about my British telly favorites in 4 Current British Shows That I Love and welcomed the former Princess Grace Kelly’s successor, Princess Charlene Wittstock, in Monaco Welcomes a New Princess, who became the Princess of Monaco after 3 decades of waiting by the people of Monaco! My absolute favorite list that I wrote was 5 Countries in Europe That Are Near and Dear To My Heart because I wrote about my wonderful experiences living and traveling around Europe when I was studying abroad in Prague, Czech Republic in fall 2009, included many of the photos that I took while in Europe, and talked about countries that I have yet to go to (but definitely will in the future). I really loved hearing about other Lovelies’ European trips as well as their own dream destinations in Europe!
Overall, I really enjoyed writing and editing for Lovelyish. My fellow intern Darci wrote a great post about our Lovelyish internship experience, I Interned for Lovelyish, And You Should Too! To anyone out there who wants to write for Lovelyish, I highly recommend being an intern here, it’s wonderful!
Thank you so much for reading my posts!
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, adieu, Lovelies!
