I was a huge haircut during my junior year of college. After chopping off my hair that Christmas, I developed this compulsive need to keep it perfectly coiffed at all times. That entailed visiting the salon every six weeks for maintenance.
Eventually, I got poor/lazy, and grew my hair out for the sake of practicality. Before I knew it, a whole seven months went by before I went in for a little trim.
I get my hair cut every three months now. Beauty magazines recommend getting it trimmed more often than that, but I just can’t bring myself to drop $50 every four to six weeks. I could get it done for cheap, but it seems like every time I get a budget haircut, I end up looking like an anime cosplayer.
How often do you go in for a haircut? When was the last time you got one?

Haircuts have never been an issue for me because my mom is a hairstylist. I’ve never paid for a haircut or anything. Since I’ve been in college and living 2 hours away from her, however, it usually takes me a really long time to get my hair cut or trimmed.

I get my hair trimmed around every two months. My friend does hair, so I always go to her and pay her in food and baked goods. I usually just let her cut my hair however she wants because I know it’ll look good.

Hah, I usually spend less than $20 and get it done 2-3 times a year. I can’t be bothered to do it more often or spend more.

i’ll get it done twice a year if i remember to. but i’m one of those crazy people that grows their hair out real long then hacks it all off and donates it to locks of love. plus, i dont color, flat iron, or curl it – heck a brush rarely comes near it (trying to use a brush on my hair usually doesnt end well b/c of the texture – so the ends only get split with natural wear and tear.

I have short bangs, so I get them trimmed maybe once a month to keep them out of my eyes, but other than that, I don’t get my hair cut very often. The last time I got more than a trim was probably back in February or March when I decided to get my bangs cut, and even then it was only like 2 inches off the back. I’m in the process of growing my hair out and got the dead ends trimmed about two months ago, but I take pretty good care of my hair so I don’t think I’ll need to go and get it trimmed again for a while.

Yeah, I think I only get my hair cut like once a year. I keep really good care of it and I never get split ends so I don’t see the point in getting it trimmed every 3 months or whatever. I do know that my sister does though. I don’t know, maybe my hair just isn’t as cranky lol.

I usually get mine done every 6-8 weeks depending on how quickly it grows. I have blonde highlights so I get it highlighted and trimmed at the same time. Going tomorrow! My friend does it for me so I get full highlights and a cut for $60. She’d be willing to do it for $20 but then I feel like I’m taking advantage of her and her skills that she went to the Paul Mitchell school to learn.

Bahaha on the anime cosplayer thing. I quit getting budget cuts after a guy slaughtered my hair to a boy cut and I left bawling. I get my hair cut every time I notice my ends getting a little frayed… but that could be MONTHS.

I get my hair cut about every 9 or 10 months. That’s about how long it takes to go from shoulder length to halfway down my back. That’s usually about how long it takes before it starts getting on my nerves and I have to cut it anyway.

Ideally, I’d like to get my hair trimmed all the time so that it stays looking nice, but I tend to go for a VERY long time without. In high school I got my hair trimmed or cut 4 times, 5 if you count when I cut a lot of hair off a few weeks after I graduated.

Actually, right now I’m kind of looking like that picture. I get mine cut like every 6 months and even then it’s just a trim. I want to cut it short (not like pixie, but like to my chin) but last time I did that I liked it at first then missed my long hair. Plus my long hair keeps me warm in the winter lol.

I don’t usually go to the hairdressers to get my hair cut, I do it myself if I feel like I need to cut my bangs or length. Normally, I only go to the hairdressers if I want to get it into a certain style
That’s about… once a year?

About twice a year. I take good care of my hair and I never get split ends; the only time I get it cut is when the ends start looking dry and tangle more easily. Even though my haircut is only $10-$12 dollars I just don’t like having to take a couple hours out of my day to get it cut. Plus I’m trying to grow it out

I only get trims..i can’t remember the last time I had a cut

I wait about sixteen or seventeen weeks before I trim mine. But I take really good care of it and it doesn’t look damaged or anything until after a while. Every six weeks is stupid, just take care of it and it will be fine.

Because of my hair type, I get my hair trimmed twice a year, three times if I’m luck. It’s too expensive to get it cut more often than that. I wish I could get it cut every two to three months though

i dont get my hair cut very often

Every 3 months. But now that I’m back in school, my hair’s suffering from the biweekly curling for parties, etc, so I’m sure my next trim will be sooner.

Er, well it’s been 9 months.

Never. I never get my hair cut. I take good care of my hair. It doesn’t get damaged.

Every 6-8 weeks. Just get the ends trimmed though.

I cut it myself since the hairdressers do a worse job.

I have never been to a hair salon. My mother has cut my hair before and done some routine trims, but my hair has never gone through any truly drastic changes in length. In 2008, I think, I decided to cut my bangs—I’d always had a fringe growing up, but they had grown out and was an equal length to the rest of my hair—because I needed a slight change. I held the style until July 2010 when I moved to a humid climate, and the fight to keep them from curling in all sorts of weird cow-lick directions wasn’t worth it. Right now, I’m sitting at just over two years since having it trimmed and it does need it desperately.

My mom trims my bangs when it’s too long, but I go to the salon once every three years maybe to cut off most of my hair (up to my ear tips) and donate it. I should probably go in for trimming, but for the most part my hair looks fine. I’m sure a professional would disagree, but college students aren’t professionals or stylists so I’m ok!

The last time I got a haircut, was back in Febuary. That was my first and last haircut. My hair doesn’t grow that fast, at all. The only time I get my hair trimmed, is when I go to the salon, and that’s not very often.

Every 3-4 months, BUT I take good care of my hair. I only wash it 3-4 days a week, use a good conditioner (Biolage) and try to also only use my flat iron or curling iron a few days a week. Every time I see my stylist she always comments on how healthy my hair is.
